Goodbye Terry...

Silent Bob said:
The most selfish, self obsessed coach of all time. Never accepted any blame for the teams woeful performances. Even on his way out the door he was deflecting criticism by carping on about his recruiting of the bulldogs current list. Disgraceful exit you oxygen thief.

No wonder he lost the support of his players. You have to take at least some of the blame, sometimes.

Have a look at this crap from his farewell press conference. Fair dinkum he could just about out do the master of spin, one K Rudd. Whoever takes over the coaching job at Richmond I just hope he's a straight shooter who calls it as it is and doesn't go on with this sort of garbage. Maybe this is why the players weren't getting the message.

``I'll probably wait four or five days and then I'll start the coffee set,''
``What you have to do in this game is you have to find out where the landscape of the game lies at any particular time and see whether your skill set fits into any other scenarios.''

Farewell Terry and thanks for prolonging the misery for another five years.

ive heard some people being sorry for TW....he can get stuffed....what about being sorry for us tiger tragics, the supporters who have stuck with this team in these bad times....not a guy who took the money and basically lied to all of us...

1) said prior to being coach anyone who cant kick a ball wont get a game - YEAH RIGHT
2) blaming everyone else, mcmahon (pic 19) wouldve been his doing i have no doubt about this...
3) guys on the list who shouldve been moved on or traded much earlier.....johnson, petts, simmonds, hyde, tivendale, *smile* just to name a few,
4) Not embracing the draft to bolster the list, sure i have no problems targeting players in a trade for list needs but u have to try and get those pics back by off loading players whom u feel are not part of the future....sadly TW felt these players could take us to the promised land, most of these players above we (supporters) were advocating them to be gaspered years ago...

:clap, agree 100%, terry is and always will be the master of spin , right up until his last press conference you could still see the sh$t running down his chin.

My feeling is relief. I wanted Terry at the time when he was appointed, but anyone was preferable to the shambling, cliche ridden, incompetent buffoon that was Frawley. However the longer things went with Wallace the more it became apparent that he either wasn't getting through to the players or wasn't even really trying that hard, he also made the wrong call too many times in regards to drafting players. Relief that now the club may appoint a coach (please not Buckley, they may as well appoint a relatively rabid supporter as do that, it amounts to much the same thing, or Campbell, does not have what it takes) and put in place a plan for future success. Forget about the next 5 years. The side is going to be pretty crap for that period, accept it. The plan is for the real work and climb back to respectability to begin after that. The coach needs to be in it for the long haul and not someone who will chase quick wins for points with the media and the real bitter fans. My preference is for Hardwick, he has seen success as a player and as an assistant, he's learned from 2 very talented coaches as a player and knows what it is to be at a place coming from the bottom up using a plan for future success, he's a hard bugger, will make tough decisions and won't sugar coat things, he won't mind being reunited with Sheedy either. Do it Tigers, get someone who actually gives a stuff and won't shirk the hard work.

:rofl, bye bye terry you clown

I've read and heard heaps in recent days/weeks/months/years about Wallet, and I was pretty dam far from being a fan of his.

However, the man had an impeccable footballing pedigree, and was well performed. To suggest he is a clown, is simply not fair.

I am sure we would all agree that after Wallace, Frawley, Walls, Northey, the Giesch et al - we can no longer blame the coaches. That is superficial and short sighted. The problems are far deeper than the man who sits in the box.

These problems will never disappear while we accept that type of analysis...

It's simple, we need more money in the football department.....which will change in the next few years. Aren't we the ranked 4th last in terms of money spent on the footy department? I don't think Wallace is a clown, but he's a charlatan who started believing his own spin and lies. His last week (and the interview with Sam) really demonstrated what type of person Terry really is. A money driven egomaniac.
