How long has the holding the ball rule for grabbing the ball out of the ruck and being tackled been in place for? 5 years or so?

Could someone please tell Troy Simmonds about it? My god he must be stupid....I reckon he gives away at least one of these frees every week. Why won't some people learn? ???

he has to be tackled legitimately and he was taken high. *smile* free that was

but yes simmo is dumb

Yeah it was high and hehe yeah simmo is dumb, done and dusted. He should be embarrassed that an elevated rookie from 3 years ago has now taken his position. His time to leave has well and truly come and not to mention he cant even jump.

I think his knee problem severely limits him. He was never a brilliant tap ruckman, but his work around the ground was great. Now he has lost his around the ground influence, his pure rucking ability is sub standard!

I don't mind a player grabbing the ball out of a ruck contest, but surely you must know you will be tackled almost immediately.

I wouldn't hesitate sawpping Simmonds for Patto or Riewoldt next week.

I like and admire Simmonds, but I agree. Grabbing the ball was a jump the shark moment because you decline 30 need to be at least gamesmart when they get their opportunities.
