Well thats the big question rosy, you really dont know until that day arrives, there is a lot of doubt in your words, i doubt this and doubt that, well no doubting the tiges had the nd most hard ball gets in the league, so id say we would be more than capable to cope with there hardness...
Your speculating on what you think could/would happen we can all do that and i say time will tell and until thatt day arrives your welcome to speculate all you like...

Of course time will tell but the actual fact is the Hawks performed far better over the entire sesaon than we did and they are holding up the Cup this year, not us.

Why are you so bitter Astute? Not happy the Hawkers won? :hihi

I will still consider them a default premier like Adelaide in 97/98. The Hawks won because Geelong stuffed up basically, but a wins a win and you take them anyway you can.

As for the Tiges vs Hawks gamer earlier this year, go watch the replay, we actually applied some really tight pressure and ran the lines well. Geelong would be wishing they played like we did on that today.

absolutely, a wins win but ur right geelong stuffed up on the score board and thats where they lost the game, its a no brainer but unfortuanetly for some it is.

Don't worry about it mate.

The thing about some posters on this site is they don't like reality. They take it as negativity towards our club.

When you state facts that show how badly our club is run, the same bunch of fork wielding yokels come out breathing fire thinking that I am out to damage the club.

Only a selected few on this site are worth debating with.

:nopity

Talk about making up a strawman argument.

I am not happy that they won Rosy - apart from Cartoon - I hate the Hawks the second most. They have a few in that team that have questions over them about their off field pleasures and I still have the article to prove it. Until they are all gone I will not respect that team nor their success. They were lucky today - faced a team down on the day. The best team of the year did not win today. Sour grapes - you bet >:D

This game illustrated how poor Geelong's forward line actually is. For too long, Geelong's midfield has made their forward line look good.

Mooney is hardly better than Kingsley, Varcoe is a joke, S Johnson and Stokes are squibs, Ottens is soft, Rooke is no better than Pettifer, Chapman, who I rate highly, still looked injured.

With a bit of pressure on the Geelong midfielders, their forward line couldn't manufacture their own goals.

That's funny.  :hihi

Thankfully I only know nice Hawk supporters as opposed to the very ordinary Geelong supporters I've come across.  I don't think I've forgiven them for when they flogged us in the final at Waverly and I was stuck sitting near them. Then there was the time I was stuck amongst them at the G when Ablett kicked a thousand against us and even though I didn't know them they draped their flags over my face and kept rubbing my head and continually getting stuck into me about how crap Richmond were.

Come to think of it I'm rapt on many levels that the Hawkers won today. :clap

....Lonergan is a dud.

Was it the illustrious Hayfever who said our list develoment was ahead of Hawthorn's ?

Heh heh heh heh.....

I fully cred the rumours that Stuart Dew went off just after 3/4 time for a beer transfusion. But here's the scandal. Apparently one of the Geelong players leaked that they get a six pack at 1/4 time (and Scarlo gets a slab) and now he wants a trade.

And Thompson threated no beer at half time if the Cats weren't in front. Phew.

The funny thing is, Dewy is probably the best kick in the afl and now a second time premiership player. He could transfuse what the heck he wants if he plays like that.

Nah these hawks supporters at work were putting up ribbons and ballons and being full of joy, ahh perhaps a bit of jealousy there on my behalf so im going to hate seeing these guys next week celebrating like theres no 2moro, then again some said they could be partying (drinking) for a few days if they got up...

Bumped into old Sneezy after the game today. He still insisted that:

The Hawks will never win two in a row
Richmond are ahead in their rebuild
Franklin's quiet game today proves that he is one year wonder and can't perform when the heat is on
Hodge was undeserving and still a big game choker
Deledio is better than Roughead so there
Richmond are superior because Hawthorn haven't won 3 of the last 4 half time Grand Final Sprints

and reiterated earlier comments such as:

In the last 16 years the Hawks have made the finals 7 times......... for an 8th, 7th, 6th x 4 times, and a 4th(15 wins) in 2001. We only made the finals twice in the same period.......... for a 3rd in 2001(how sweet) and 4th(16 wins).

So in the last 16 years our best 2 results are better than anything those Tassie Chooks have accomplished....... they ARE chokers.

Hayfever said:
Keep punching pal....... one day you might land one :rotfl

Hope you noticed a post I did earlier today pointing out Richmond have twice finished higher than Hawthorn's best effort in the last 16 years. Sheesh.......... if they aren't chokers then what is? No wonder they got deported to Tassie.

Hayfever said:
Well you are not getting it, so do what you told me to do...... move on.

In the last six seasons they have finished 10, 9, 15,14, 11 and choked last year to finish 6th. That is fact and it's been a consistent trend with Hawthorn for 16 years. As I said I'm reserving my judgement on them until they actually do something at the business end of a season.

Hayfever said:
I dont disagree........ if the club goes for a quick fix and stuffs up. After 1995 we immediately lost Northey....... our best coach in the last 25 years. In 2001 we kidded ourselves we were close to a flag. Quick fixes rather than stability and sustained steady growth have been our constant downfall. Only now are we finally seeing financial and board stability, and decent investment in facilities and specialist support staff.

Hawthorn's story has been the same for the last 16 years. They did the same thing in 2001 as we did. At the start of 2004 Schwab declared them good things for the flag....... famous last words :-[

The way the Hawks played in the semi last year, having players with poor discipline under pressure, and the recruitment of Stuart Dew makes me question if anything has really changed.

Not sure about historics, but surely that is a record for how many rushed behinds the Hawks gave the Cats.

I think the Hawks learned something from us, rush behinds, take control at kick outs and keep control of the ball.

They did it with aplomb yesterday.

Was that a historical season in the aFL? for a team to lost just 2 games all year including the grandfinal?

Collingwood, back 30's i think, won ever home and away game, got to the grand final and lost.
