Seems Bomber could have looked at the way Tiges and Demons played the Hawks. The geelong game is not suited to the Hawk zone and it showed.
The Hawk zone is vulnerable to teams that are prepared to be patient at half back before running the ball through a gap in the zone at half back and kicking long into the inevitable space in the forward line.
This years Geelong sets up a flood between centre and half forward and try to ram through short kicks to pinpoint a forward. The Hawk zone justs pulls back in response and you end up with 30 players inside 50 of which 5 seemed to be called Hodge. And personaly I thought Abletts game was symptomatic of Geelong, when the game was crying out for long kicks he started with 13 handballs and 2 kicks and ended with 34 posessions but only 12 kicks. Of these twelve kicks most were just 15m.
Bomber's response? Put it this way, he's not likely to go dancing with the stars cos he's got no moves!!
