Rowville...or maybe London
In the past, some posters have commented that some players more than others do things on the field that makes them stand up and shout "Great Work!".

These actions may require excellent judgement, timing, tenacity, selflessness, teamwork, skill or brains. However statistics do not usually distinguish them from another action of the same type (for example, an awesome tackle vs. another average tackle). On the flip side, there are failures of judgement, teamwork and so on that hurt the team more than what is reflected by statistics (for example, failure to shepherd). Often these make me stand up and yell "Bloody Hell!"...or worse.

IMO, evaluations of players rely too heavily on statistics and not enough on "Great Work"s and "Bloody Hell"s. Afterall, statistics are often easier to keep track of. We all know who kicked the most goals for richmond last year but who can remember which player made them stand up and clap the most during the 2007 season? Don't get me wrong, some statistics can tell you a lot. But often they only tell you half the story.

So while last night's game is still fresh in our minds, I'd be really interested to hear which players were signled out for individual good or bad actions.

For me it was *smile*, Thursty, Kingy and Newman that got the signalled for good actions.

Johnson copped most of the 'bloody hell's from me this week (mostly for not turning around to have a look after taking a mark).
