I contacted Greg this morning in regard to the suggestion of Fundraising to obtain an extra rookie. I'm posting his reply, with Greg's permission, on a separate thread in case people want to discuss issues not really relevant on the fundraising thread.
Good Morning Rosy
At this point in time we are planning two or three depending on as you guessed it finances. We have a limit of five as we plan to include at least one of our two veterans (Richo/*smile*) outside our primary list;
I personally would love to grow our Rookie list to the maximum by the 2006 rookie draft
We are planning to only choose three youngsters thru the National Draft ( selections 8, 24 and 40 ) leaving our extra player to the preseason Draft (again finances dependant)
In this year Draft pool and with so many clubs planning to choose just three or four players thru the national Draft it makes sense to draft Rookies
The Captains Club has also raised the possibility of assisting as their major focused fund raiser
Give me some time to speak to them and perhaps between both groups we can achieve the extra player
