Greg MIller on SEN in 5 mins

Why the hell wouldn't you take your "first choice" rookie with your first choice? Why try to be clever and take him later and risk not getting your first choice?

I'm a simple person - if the SEN quotes are true, Miller operates on the different plane to mere mortals and perhaps Claw is right:-[

Easy ShutHearse. Miller may be talking about someone like Bryce Campbell who we are likely to be the only ones interested. He is older and Miller could have asked Bryce if he'd had any contact with any other clubs and if not you could feel safe enough taking him in the 2nd round knowing that a couple of the kids (17yr olds) that you like will definitely be gone by then. If you can understand it, it actually makes sense. You have a small risk of losing your first choice to try to get your first and second choice. If you dont take the risk you will get only your first and seventeenth choice. Understand ;)

We should take our best choice first. The rookie draft has produced some very good players but dont get to carried away. The success rate of players from the rookie draft would probably be around 5%. Don't stuff around trying to be to smart for our own good. Pick our preferred option first.

AGAIN Miller will be on SEN in 5 minutes from now. Please dont ever rely on MadCow for your radio updates again. Jayfox is clearly the most reliable link to upcoming interviews. ;D

Good for you gaybox. Skippers still searching the dial for Miller yesterday.

Miller says we took White cos Collingwood was interested in him. :-\
Judging by Collingwoods recent efforts in regards to drafting maybe we should have left White well alone ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's a worry the pies were interested in him.

Matt White was in contact with both the pies & us, with both clubs asking who else was talking to them, so GM thought it was best we take him in the PSD- he thinks he is "an outstanding prospect".
A caller asked GM about hyis athletics background, GM replied that he does 15.2 beep test & that he is another challenger to the coveted sprint king cronw at Punt Rd.
Jeremy Humm trained with the club over the weekend & impressed them. They viewed his tapes & checked him out medically. He missed most of this year with an ankle injury.
He mentioned the young ruckman whose name escapes me is 200cm from King Island & played footy all over the place at Oakleigh, Tassie & Assumption.
Didnt mention the kid from Box Hill.
Told all Tiger fans to get down to Punt Rd Thursday for a mini Olympics with sprint, strength & kicking comps, with the 100m sprint the highlight.
Think that was all folks! Heres to my 500th post.

Miller said that we took White because Collingwood had been on the phone to him regularly and were shaping to take him at pick 2 in the rookie draft. We took him in the PSD because we wanted to be sure that we would get him. Sounds like other clubs rated him as well as I have heard Hawthorn were interested too.
Miller also said -
- White is quick and fit. Runs a 15-3 beep. Can kick both sides of his body. Has an athletics background and in recent relays at training was the only one to challenge Deledio for pace
- Humm they didn't know was eligible until the last week or so. He impressed them with his training. He was on a 1 year contract at WC and was likely to play this year but dislocated his ankle and it ended his year. We wanted him as an option to fit into our midfield rotation.
- Graham is a tall ruckman from King Island who played with Assumption College and Tasmania.

Well done DS on your 500th post.

Can anyone tell me what time the sprint is on at Punt Road? I reckon Deledio will win easily by the way.

I reckon Tambling will do a hamstring trying to beat him.

Don't speak too soon. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
