Greg Miller & recruiting

Francis Jackson and Craig Cameron appear no better.

Even though there's many problems, its this part of the football club - in association with the coach and the say that he has in the list - that is the key problem at RFC.

We list chronically underskilled players that are often mentally and physically soft, and then we compound matters by keeping them on the list for years. We can never...never....get a balanced player with skill AND fortitude. Never.

For those who attended the draft night abotu 5 yeaers ago, will know that Francis Jackson was a part time scout, recruited by Miller on a voluntary basis to hepl identify kids playing in remote locations. FJ is part of the Miller regime and until we completely break this mould, clean out the recruiting team, we will not move forward. FJ, in my opinion, is not better than GM.

In hindsight we can say exactly the same thing about Wallace. We were all conned. I will give 100% support to a coach who outlines an achievable game plan, commits to rid the club of the lack of foot skills/defensive skill weaknesses that have plaqued us for years, recruits players that match the plan and then sticks to it 100%, keeping members informed along the way. We're at rock bottom. The only way is up. Sooner Wallace is gone the better. Can't see what is to be gained with him staying.

agreed - get a caretaker coaach in to try and inject some enthusiasm around the joint and give the kids some wins out of the 2nd half of the year, going into 2010. Please dont quash youth and enthusiasm - give them something!!

thats funny i dont recall to many people being upset about this in fact there was probably only one or two of us who openly criticed these decisions who was talking about processes and the need to build the recruiting dept. all of a sudden everyones claiming to be nostradamus.

i was accused at often of having a vendetta against miller i wonder when the apologies will roll in.
and let me say it annoys the crap out of me when people say giving away pick 2 cost us wells and hes done nothing. giving away pick 2 cost uas a crack at every player in the draft bar one, you dont know who we would have taken with pick 2.and even if we did take wells it would have taken us thru the right PROCESSES. brown COST picks 6 and 20 does not equate to bradley and butler we dont know who they would have taken. one thing we could probably be reasonably sure of is they would have stuffed it especially with miller in charge.

AS FOR JACKSON AND CAMERON. i agree with red if jackson played a significant role in the 2005 draft it netted us jon, hughes, and casserly. 06 riewoldt. polak, white, edwards, connors peterson and collins, 07 kingsley, graham, king, mcmahon, morton, cotchin rance and putt.08 gourdis thomson vickery post hislop.so many deficient players so many areas where the processes are totally sh!t. theres no plan to overcome deficiencies in the list theres no proper list management no structure no anything.

the life blood of our club and we never ever get it right. we make mistakes and then compound those mistakes with inaction we never learn from them we are always reactive to the present circumstances and thats the club the majority of supporters are worse.

i was a miller advocate. I apologise, i was wrong.

if we were winning games no one would be making these statements
we are playing a crap brand of footy
we have no discipline and hardness within the club
we lack leadership on and off the field
we train soft so play soft

thats why we are where we are
