boyd couldnt get a kick for williamstown a few months ago. BOG in a flag today. Gives you hope,

Boyd was BOG (IMO) in a GF in his 3rd season.

I'm not holding out hope for Griffo going into his 8th season next year.

Just needs to get fit & will be far better with Vickery out of the way. The role Boyd played today is exactly how we need Griffiths to play.

He's a great mark, good kick and mobile. Just needs belief.

Roughhead has taken 7 years to be a decent footballer so there is hope.

7 years Roughead? Really. Didn't know that. He certainly has been a very good player this year.

Regardless Roughead has the advantage of being a part of a top class football program with a top class coach. Griffiths has neither to help him.

Roughead also displays determination and a thirst for the contest. That has only ever been on display from Griffiths very sporadically over his 7 year AFL career.

I think brodders is suggesting that the new coach turned Roughheads career around and thus is widely advocating dismissing Hardwick.

Griffiths has done this already in our first match against the other grand Finalist today. Kicked 5 goals, clunked big contested marks, beat Grundy decisively who was one of their best today, was the matchwinner, even won 3 Charlie votes.

You must have missed it. Of course, it doesn't fit in with the whinge and whine grind on PRE.

Maybe one thing to take out of the whole amazing Bulldogs success today is - Never give up. Persist. Keep on going.

He's been good for at least 3 years now. Played kp most of the time and very good across chb a lot of the time.

Griff is running out of time.

That's richmonds motto - persist. Where else would the likes of Luke mcguane get 100 games over 8 seasons.

Or stick with a 3 time finals failed coach?

The fans persist despite the pain.

Really? Has a year in the system more than Griff. Little difference in stats this year http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=15&playerStatus2=A&tid2=8&type=A&pid1=3332&pid2=3137&fid1=S&fid2=S

If anyone should know about persistence, it's you Lazarus.

I know, it's not that simple but a club needs a full, unified vision embraced from President through recruiting managers down through head coach and assistants to the whole team. I know we haven't got all that in place yet, but we are attempting to. It's easy to forget that McCartney presided over the recruiting of some key players, but was not the right man to reach the Holy Grail.

Hardwick may not be the right coach, but who is the next Beveridge with certainty?

Yeah remember that one. Most of those goals were from soft frees.

But some never like any facts to get in the way of a good negative rant, WT. You know, one thing I really noticed about the Bulldogs supporters was their seemingly unconditional love for their players. They seem to really stick together; love, defend and support them to the hilt. Makes a difference to so many on PRE who just revel in the player assassination and sledging. Maybe it's that sort of unity that creates such strength and leads to success.

Anyway, back to Griff. Many of these stats are even slightly in his favour, especially when you consider how many fewer games he played this year due to injury. But no, let's maintain the narrative: Roughy now a champion; Griff a persistent dud!! Ignore any relevant evidence.

In-depth analysis there. Didn't notice the free-kick count today by any chance or for the Dogs all year?

Where would Griffiths have played for the 'Dogs today?

Yeah, 5 goals, 2 frees for. The doggies were the soft free kings this year.
