Griffiths

200cm monster who is elite by foot, makes good decisions, is good below his knees and is quick. I think he will get 3+ years to show his stuff. Body positioning, strength etc can be taught. Has all the attributes that Post doesn't have. Big Ben just needs to stay fit and get some *smile* in him and we will have a player.

Average game today however.

Personally I reckon the big guy is doin just fine for his age.

This for me too.

How many games has he actually played and how many has he ever been able to string together?

I've never been so confident about a Richmond player taking the kick-ins from behinds. He really is elite in that area.

Was unimpressive in other parts of his game today, but is coming along ok overall I reckon.

We need to wait until we see a couple of good preseasons in him before making any calls.

Did not seem to do much today, but I thought he actually played better when Post wasn't out there. Not sure why that would be, just something I noticed.

needs to work on his aggression. the reason he gets injured is because he goes in half arsed.

Careful, you will be called out for massively overrating him.

Hope it doesnt take 8 years like mcguane to see him go forward
Exactly, not that I rate Chaplin highly but he is exactly what we need mature defenders so our forwards can play where they're supposed to.
That said if we had more able(or uninjured) defenders, I'd have Griff on the wing.

Strongly agree. I reakon he will be our designated kicker in time. Already kicking out quite often.

Yep.
Just pleased Big Ben is getting match time.
Way more than his fair share of injuries as a junior has seriously hampered his footy development.
Put fifty or sixty senior games into his natural ability and we're going to have a damn fine player on our hands.

sorry but so wrong, he has the body of a giant but currently medically similar to cotchin where his body is adult and his joints are not fully developed, this causes injuries to him, that will go when his body is fully grown all over, and has his first full preseason, has his condition doesn,t allow him to train and do what afl players need

Some forget that in the same year as Griffiths was taken, another club took Jack Fitzpatrick.

Remember Jack Fitzpatrick?

Same age as Ben Griffiths, Fitzpatrick has played only 2 AFL games so far.

Mind you, I believe he did kick 5 for Casey on the weekend.

I've never seen a supporter be so unsupportive of a young player.

The irony is that it wasn't that long ago that a mega-sook was had, with the trademark feral "I'm not renewing my membership" because the club traded Collins for Grigg.

Pretty sure I saw him training with the main group on tv, plus he was not mentioned in the medical report on the website so appears fine.

If I remember correctly Griff hurt his knee on Sunday when it was hit side on by another player's body whilst he was standing. He is actually lucky it wasn't a serious injury.

There is so much to like about the skill set of this guy. I have a suspicion that it will be worth the wait.
