I think we should have taken Fyfe. :)

But at least we finally know who Disco's replacement for Hislop is. Poor kid.

Be clear JB, Fyfe is one out of the box. But there were a lot of players floating around that pick.

The talk of you can get a Bastinac any year is rubbish. How many times dop we ignore these types to try and get blokes who have %7.32 of benig the next Royce Hart?

And I don't think Griffiths is soft. But he is what he is.

And what's that?

Give it a spell. Today is par for the course. He is what he is. Not worthy of a top 20 pick.

That's the most ridicous thing I've read in some time. He was travelling well today before getting knocked out and you can't wait to tell us all he's a write off because of it.

The difference is I'll have plenty of help because most people can see how stupid arguments like the one SCOOP is trying to make are.

I'm going to stick fat with him for another year. Hopefully Beavis puts him forward next season when Grimey gets back.

God i would love to see him get a half a dozen games at CHF next year. Griff and Jack and a decent rover at their feet. He aint gonna cut as a backman though i don't think

How stupid? How many times does he not finish out a entire game? He had THREE touches today and you say he was travelling well?

Has had 3,4 and 6 touches the last three weeks after missing three weeks after playing six.

Six weeks in, three weeks out, then 4 touches a week over the next three.

Give me a spell. Can't stay on the park. And doesn't do enough when on it.

If your happy with that as a top 20 pick then enjoy loafing around 10-13. A cross for Francis Jackson.

Enlighten me Scoop? I can't recall any time that we've taken a 200cm athletic tall who's slipped down the order due to injury concerns. Silly comment and it's clear that you so desperatley want Griffiths to fail so you can vindicate your initial position. Just explain to me what you expect from a 20 year old tall who has had rotten luck with injury?

Fair enough, I am doing the same. Until he proves otherwise, I am just putting the view I put across from day one.

The fact you're even willing to make that judgment after 3 years shows how biased you are against this bloke. As many of us are trying to tell you, he has plenty of time to come good.

It's not rotten luck, he couldn't stay on the park in the TAC. You said it, he had injury concerns. He is doing what he did at TAC. I see the talent. I think he can play but I wouldnt use a top 20 pick on a injury prone tall. We can't afford to do that today and we couldn't afford it back then.

Disco, he couldn't string games together at TAC level and he cant at AFL level. It's not talent. After five years of not being able to get on the park, I think you have enough to data to make that call.

And be clear, I want him to make it. I get how important he could be. But just becuse I put a differnet view across doesn't make me bias or less Richmond.

Fair enough. I think making definitve negative statements against a 21 year old 200cm kid is anything but supportive.

At the time you said you had no problem with the pick because we desperately needed talls.

Bit disappointing that a bloke knocking himself out trying to spoil is considered evidence that we should not have drafted him. :-\

Does he have any awareness when going in hard?

He landed head first without using his hands first.

Looks like a clumsy 4 year old sometimes.

Linking the shoulders with the concussion is drawing a very long bow. At least he's putting his body on the line and mixing it with some of the more hardened players in the competition. Griffiths is 20, he's got another decade of football ahead of him and you want to write him off because he's been knocked out a few times? Do you remember the Hawkins incident a fortnight ago? Was that worthy of a tongue lashing in your opinion? Cut the guy some slack, you're happy to shield Post from criticism yet you refuse to give Ben any latitude, despite being 3 years younger.

That's where you're wrong I reckon mate. He's been growing all that time. Give his body a chance to settle down. As they say in basketball, if you're big you get five years to show you can't play. He's had three. Gets two more. And even then he'll have had one year less than Gumbleton and Essendon hasn't given up on him (although I suspect they'll trade him if anyone wants him).

He has excellent general awareness. Watch the Hawks game again if you need reminding. It's impossible to control what happens to you in the situation he found himself in today. Many players get concussed in similar circumstances and it has nothing whatsoever to do with them being injury prone.
