Griffiths

At least he didnt land on his shoulder.

Do agree that he needs to find some more mongrel, and more of the ball.

What he was doing on a 188cm Mayne today I have no idea...time to get him up forward where he belongs.

if he can't stand up in the backline he has no hope in the forward line where he has to stand under the ball, raise both arms to mark, and get smashed by key backs from every direction.

He is 2 meters tall and he jumped a meter into the air. Do me a favour and try something, grab your ladder and pop up onto your garage roof, that will be about 3 meters off the ground. Then jump off and land on your side without hurting yourself. After you have done that jump back on PRE and explain how you managed it, and do us a favour and PM big Ben so he gets it right next time.

Thanks, I just tried it and here I am.

All he needed to do is not run into McGone. *smile* it's hard.

Yep, we can all sit back, eat popcorn, and laugh at a player putting his head on the line for the club we pretend to support.

I was laughing about Tigerforce allegedly jumping off his garage and landing on his head, we are on the same side on this one MLD.

Sorry, sarcasm guns going back into holsters . :duh

Can't believe people are unhappy about the fact a player put his body on the line to get the footy. It was courageous play and a lot of players don't have the courage to do it in the first place. Sure he might have past injuries but it's not like he plays AFL trying to get injured. If he was in the forward line and he did this in a marking contest we could have been talking about his mark of the year. He is a Richmond player putting his body on the line for his club, you can't ask for me there then that.

Mayne was a tough match up for us yesterday.
All our defenders struggled on him.

188cm and pretty quick on the lead. We tried Griffiths, then Post.

Think Helbig may have ended up there eventually. Shows how important Grimes & Batchelor are to our back 6.

Thanks for a well put summary

Was of the opinion that Griff tunnelled himself, just not in position to affect the contest and unfortunately squashed his melon.
Can't help wondering if Griff is just going to be one of those bloody unfortunates that doesn't get a clean run injurywise. Poor bastards been kicked in the head at Coburg, had some doggie fall across his knee, squashed his melon and probably found some other ways to hurt himself.
Maybe he's a maso ;D
Kids a bloody smooth user of the ball so I'm pretty certain he'll make a player once he gets some miles under the belt, just wish he'd get a clean run with the knocks n injuries for a season.

Seems to me Ben was right on Mayne's hammer and was jumping to try and spoil as McGuane and his opponent drifted in front of him. Really can't see how he could have done anything differently.

Simple. Just watch where you're going when running into ruck. He could've sidestepped a bit. Not McGone's fault for standing in the way. Listen to what Shaw said about how he could've put hand in the way to soften the impact.

Hmmm dunno _ I see lots of similarities.. Seems to put himself in a lot of unduly dangerous situations. He did it at Coburg as well.

I agree.

While we can't always match up on every player, Mayne yesterday highlighted a problem I hadn't seen for a while. We had no one who could play tall or small as required.

Thursfield was limited as a player, but he actually could do this. I think Rance can too, but yesterday he was needed elsewhere.

We miss Grimes and and in form Batchelor badly.

Of course it's not McGuane's fault. It's one of those things that happen in footy. I think you're wrong, you think I'm wrong, let's just leave it at that.
