Jade the blunt blade has lost his edge, has now fallen victim of the Punt Road curse.

Yes, sadly the same old cracks are appearing in the team.

Time to fix them with solid foundations through the draft, not with wallpaper from other clubs.

Surely the past two games would have convinced wiser heads that while Jade is a straight talker with the players (and they like it), it requires a little more experience than just straight talk to turn the Tiger liner around.

I can understand why Laidley got a "Go passed Go card" - of who's available he is the most experienced. However Hinkley or Hardwick might be better long term options - each with adequate experience in successful periods.

One small thing I would say in Jade's favor was when he left Post on Goods for the whole 3rd quarter I took it as as sign that he was coaching to get come development today and it wasn't all about the 4 points.

Luck, because we were nowhere near the 4 points

disagree. richo will take the spot of a kid. ie. Post. he won't be in our next finals team let alone our next premiership. time to retire.

disagree mate.

#A - what kid lol
#B - it was qualified with a if he's been re-signed... no good whinging about him retiring now until the end of next year.

Rawlings todays slams Richmond's culture and we still seem to want to persist with and untried coach.

The tigers problem is bigger than playing lists and match day plans. They need a great proven leader, but we seem insistent on closing the door on these people.

This process needs to grab the cheque book and go and get the best coach in Australia.

The way the Pies are playing at the moment I think that would be Malthouse but hes unavailable for 2 years.
Maybe throw the cheque book at him in 2 years time?

There is no reason that an untried coach cant come in a set the wheels in motion to change the culture, just need a hard nut who leads from example.

Absolute cop-out from Rawlings.

I was a fan until yesterday, but he coached like a rabbit caught in a spotlight. Terrible match-ups, way too slow to change them, then got it wrong again.

Awful performance from the players as well, but we knew they're cr@p already.

Next, please.

Why would any half decent coach (or player) want to come to Richmond? 80% of our supporters turn on our own in the slightest instant. I am just as frustrated as any supporter, but I was embarassed to be a tigers member yesterday when the bloke behind me blasted abuse on EVERY player as he took posession. "This blokes is a dud, kicks it to the biggest clown in the AFL. You don't deserve to even be alive Tambling!", you hear this every week and yes it's frustrating but why come to the footy or even support the tigers if that's what you think? What succesful coach or player would choose this club and supported base over any other club in the league?

We also need someone with a clear defensive system and emphasis like Ross Lyon, Paul Roos and Mick Malthouse IMHO. I like Hinkley but I'm not sure if he's the man because I doubt a Geelong like system which is more offensive can work with our list.

Good point! We have been trying to play the Geelong style of football for too long and have failed miserably. In my opinion Hardwick or Brad Scott are the best options.

I agree that just going after a 'hard nut' may not work cos you can have the greatest transmitter of a message in the world, but unless the receivers are any good, fat lot of good the message is.

The main pre-requisite is recent success in some form or other, which is why I couldn't appoint Jade, but could Hinkley or Hardwick. Time to get serious about success and get people with that already have that flowing through them.

Agree. The coaching performance (before the game) it terms of selection was ridiculous and during the game embarrassing - if we can't get a priority pick why not just play our genuinely best side? The thing that infuriated me the most was our kicks ins and their kick outs - We would struggle to get the ball outside defensive 50 every time and the Swans would clear the ball virtually every time at will (i.e.) under no pressure. Surely the kick ins, and their kicks outs are not rocket science, it is one part of the game that is mainly coaching, running hard and some tactics. How can we be beaten so badly in this area - is it pure laziness (i.e. not being willing to run) stupidity or both? And at the risk of being cast to the 1970s - if the 'zone defence' is clearly not working, like it was yesterday, would it really be that (more) disastrous to go man on man and actaully have some accountability?

Mate, unfortunately this happens almost every week!! Just about every other side in the competition clears their defensive 50 with one or two poseessions, why cant we???
