After umpteen years of never knowing what to expect from the one and only "Richo" are we now seeing a mature, relaxed "elder statesman" finally enjoying his footy?  Is it also no coincidence that we are starting to win games even when he does not kick a bagfull?

Against the Cats it was obvious early on that the big fella had left his kicking boots at home. They were spraying all over the shop and the crowd was really giving it to him. In past seasons this would have almost certainly guaranteed it becoming a dirty day for the Tiges. Richo would have turned on the dummy spits, sulks etc. and started blaming his team mates. The rest of the side would then have gone into its shell and we would have copped a massive hiding.

Full marks to Wallace and co. for turning it all around at Tigerland. Full marks to big Richo for smiling, turning the other cheek and getting on with the game...... doing the hard things like chasing, tackling, harassing and other second effort things.

How ironic was it that he ended up kicking his only goal as the match sealer, then smiling like a prize canary in the Cat Colosseum. Made it a very sweet victory indeed. Also the embrace with Tambo, who set up the goal, was priceless.

"elder statesman", I like that HF. ;)

I saw another thread here about Richo and had to restrain myself from commenting about some of the Richo-bashers.

Get over it, guys, Matty's here for the long haul - he ain't going nowhere until he retires! How about watching all the other things he does for his team mates, how about encouraging him when he shoots for goal - might rub off on him.

I wish I could have given Richmond the service that the big No. 12 has.

Go Richo, go Tiges!

Get well soon big fella  :gotigers

That was hilarious... I was sitting in the forward pocket right near that mark/free kick. The Carlton crowd went totally mental... After they went quiet I yelled out "Good decision umpire!"

:hihi

Lunch Witnall looks like he hadn't quite swallowed that mouthful of Whopper with cheese.

Got a fright then, first time I read the title I thought you said...

Hall the "new" Richo

phew

:hihi amongst other things Timbo...

I recko he did that wrist in the first quarter. It was strapped before the game and he was fidgeting after the first clash.

He was very worried by it after the second blow and looked to be in trouble. Played out the game and continually threw himself at the contests.

Did okay against a star opponent (one who's had his measure in the past) under duress. If he has a good day with the boot it's a mighty effort with a broken wrist. Pretty good all things considered.

BTW did posters hear Wallace's comments on Richo's move to full back? It was the big fella's idea not the panel's. ;D Took em three minutes to get him out of there.

Bit tough imo. Most of the body languaqge has come up over really bad delivery and most has been justified. Becks recruitment efforts and Frawley's one dimensional game plan left little escape for Richo and we should be looking beyond Richo if you are seeking an explanation for the ocassional :veryupset.

The new Richo is in fact a South Australian from Glenelg FC called Sellars. We should be preparing to spend the farm to put ourselves in a position to nab him.

:hihi One of my vices, too, antman. My brothers and I always have a nice loud chat after decisions like that:

"Good call! Great call! Gee that was a good call wasn't it?"
"Oh yeah, brilliant call."
"Makes the hard decisions, this ump."
