at the moment we are not able to string more then a half of semi decent football.. at most! we came out firing against carlton and the first half a against collingwood, especialy the first quarter, was the toughest i have seen a richmond outfit perform in many years. we were hitting shepherds, blocking for team mates, putting our heads over the ball. then against sydney and the dogs we start off *smile* poor then start to control the game in the second half.
why cant we string an entire game together? we have shown that we can control the game yet we cant capitalise.
every game has had an "if" factor. "if" we had kicked straighter. "if" richo had kicked that goal. "if" we had held on to that tackle. "if" the umpire didnt make that decision. we have shown that we can play aggressive footy. all we've gotta do now is play that way for 4 quarters! until that day comes things arent looking too good...
is it our fitness? is it our leaders? is it our coaching? there must be an answer...

The coaches were so worried about bringing up a new fit team for 2007 they over worked them perhaps?
We only played one quater last night.

I had a listen to Grant Thomas on SEN after the game and thought he had some interesting words on the matter (slack first half efforts and then coming out firing after half time).

Asked what he would say if the Saints had performed like that.

He said, they had, and he said to the team something like, How dare you tease the supporters and coaches by putting in an effort like that. Basically said they were capable of so much more, and to only put an effort in after being pathetic in the first half, is insulting.

Don't know but maybe Thomas was more of a "mind over matter" coach.
