From our humble beginnings in early October 2001 PRE has gone from strength to strength. A lot of people have come and gone over the years and a lot of friendships made through the site. We haven't exactly had the team success we all crave but there's a true air of expectation that finally the times they are a changin' and we can look forward to better things ahead.
Without having the exact figures our website has raised approx $40,000 for the RFC. Not bad for something that was born out of a Dummies Manual. On top of that there are the extra memberships and player sponsorships that people have bought due to their involvement on PRE. The Rookie Club was largely initiated on PRE and ended up being a great success with other websites getting on board too. There are also a lot of PREnders who've become involved in coterie groups and attended club functions that they possibly wouldn't have otherwise become involved in.
I'm not usually one for making speeches but I'd really like to thank a few people who give their time so willingly to help make PRE a better place.
I'm the first to admit I'm a technical ignoramus, although I have come a long way since PRE began, and I'd like to thank "Tester" for all his efforts in that regard. He's put in a heck of a lot of work behind the scenes over the years.
Secondly to Disco the Moderator extraordinaire. It's no secret that Mods on here cop more than their share of flak at times but Disco has for many years weathered the storms and continued to give his time freely to help PRE function better.
Another couple who deserve a round of applause are Panthera for his awesome work on the Player of the Year thread, our site is really enriched by his efforts, and to skybeau who so willingly keeps score for all our competitions
...(won't mention the fact that he chases all the girls out of the chatroom) Both put in a lot of effort that I simply wouldn't have the time for myself any more.
Also thanks to the ModSquad. There are a few people with access to the ModSquad account. They choose to keep their identity secret but they help out where they can, either by actions that need to be carried out on the forum or by their input in regard to site decisions.
Enough waffling...charge your glasses everyone. Beer, Champers, Martinis, Fruity Lexia, Soft Drinks, Fruit Juice and Water are on the house. :beer
