yes, i understand there are 13 games to go and we need to keep a lid on it. but this is how i see it: this time last year, we were 7-2. but i feel we are doing better this year in comparison. our draw is a lot harder and our kids have advanced 12 months. most would agree that 5-4 is a great result and only the ultimate optimist would have expected us to have 5 wins on the board after round 9. i'm not saying we're gonna make the 8, but we must be in with a chance.

the question i would like to pose is this... will the adelaide game be the turning point for the RFC? in 3-4 years time, will we look back at that game as the catalyst for our success? will this be the game the boys became men?

we won the geelong game yesterday because we backed ourselves in to win. confidence is an amazing thing in footy... would we have won yesterday if we'd lost to adelaide? have we come of age?

I just salivate at the thought of how good we are potentially going to be with so many genuine youngsters coming through our ranks.

With so many future guns in our side we're gonna be pushing our salary cap in a few years thats for sure butgee, i can't wait 8)

With so many kids playing, I expect a few thumpings and bad games. But I agree, short term pain for long term gain. It does look good for the (near) future.

I still think finals may just be out of reach this year, but I think we can make it if we win 4 out of our next 6. Our future is looking very bright indeed.

I have a feeling we are all getting a bit ahead of ourselves but what the heck, enjoy!

Even if we don't do much for the rest of the year the vibes coming out of the club are something I haven felt for a long time. Even '95 and 2001 didn't feel this way. Could be the start of something really "special" ( :hihi). I just have the feeling that success is inevitable with the way the team is being handled at the moment. There is a solid foundation being laid.

agree with most of u....enjoying it at the moment but will not get to carried away. didnt count on us making the 8 this year and still dont but would be an added bonus if we did. the future looks good.

Its just great to c all the kids getting a shot..win lose or draw i enjoy watching them play..stuff ups and all.

go tigers.

the best thing, is we able to excute various plans under TW.
we have young kids having a go and who are quite talented.
we are working together as a team (P Bowden's block in the forward line to allow Hyde to kick his fourth).
we have our experience players directing our youngsters ( J Bowden telling Polo to slow it down in the last quarter).
we have experience players encouraging our youngster (Richo's goal, he made sure Tambling got a good rapt from him).
we are getting great value from our rucking combinations (Simmo, Knoble & Patto).
we have (at last) some depth in our reserves, placing pressure on the firsts.
we now don't rely only on Richo, yet, the opposition will need to place their top defender on him.
TW has recognised each player's SWOT's (kellaway's running loose (go to player) taking critical marks and opening our midfield runs).
we have other midfielders bobbing up and not relying on a few.

GO TIGERS

I wouldn't say we have come of age yet.

Don't forget we have won five of the last six but got belted by 100 odd points by the best side in the land.

We are ahead of were I thought we would be and the light is brighter then ever at the end of the tunnel. We will still have some low points this year but there is no denying the fact that we are a club on the rise with a quality list of youngsters and one of the best coaches in the caper.

Don't think you could ask for much more at the moment. ;)

Shades of 1966 and 67 with lots of kids coming through from the Thirds and country areas.

Yep, it happened way back then with newbies like Clay and Bourke and Bartlett coming into the Seniors (as they were called in those days) and us getting used to their names and their styles.

Come to think of it, there was a new coach then, too. Although I put it more like our 66 season, Hafey's 1st year, with us just missing the finals.

Must have a chat to me old mate Roar about the feeling that was around in those years I mentioned - he's much older than me! :hihi

Pretty much my attitude RROFO. We are gonna get a few pastings yet, but the path seems clear. Happier days ahead.

I won't mention the "F" word until we win at least 14 games.

We will continue to be up and down this year, and probably next year too, like any young side.  Certainly there has been a big gap between our ups and downs so far this year.  But hopefully we have more ups than downs for the rest of the year.

But I can't wait for the future.  Bring it on.
