Have we turned the corner?

Your method seems to work JD.Everyone agrees with what you say even though they probally dont understand what your getting at ;D

Yeah. Good luck. I have no idea what the hell I mean most of the time. ;D Particularly those late night posts. :crazy

Have we turned the corner? Probably not yet - but perhaps we've finally been handed a map of where the corner is. Let's call a cab and hope we arrive at the corner before 2011!

I think Raines is rated a lot higher by people outside of Pre
The media when talking bout him seem to rate him highly

I've heard quite a few talk negatively of his disposal and lack of awareness. With many players of his type at Richmond I can't see a future for him.

Turned the corner and the flag is ours for the taking. :stir

Sounds good. I reckon someone should have that line in their theme song ;D (Pitty it's crap)

We'll know after the next three weeks. Promising signs now need to be backed up by competitive performances against the best in the competition.

If we can pick up one win from either the Hawthorn/St Kilda games and a less than than 30pt loss against Geelong, we've turned the corner. If not, we haven't.

That may sound like a harsh judgment, but we're not in this competition for fun. We're there to compete and ultimately revitalise this club and be successful.

Agree T2011. If we can manage that we'll start to get a bit of respect from the football public, then we'll be on our way.
Then we might both have to re evaluate our username ;)s

i believe if we are thereabout at 3 quarter time then we are a good show. Thats our goal for the season.

We seem to run games out well although it will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season as the young players start to tire.

That doesnt bother me at all if it happens cause its just a natural progression which in time will sort itself out.

they seem to soak pressure up very well these kids.

i notice when a goal is kicked by the opposition theres no dropping of heads anymore just a quick turn around and prepare for the centre bounce.

thats whats its about, rolling up the sleeves and just gettin on with the job at hand.

Well done RFC and keep it up.

We did ok in 2007 and just missed the finals with a relatively old team but this year we are a bit more competitive with a younger and quicker team.
2007 we couldnt beat any top 4 teams and were a level below the real competitors.
This year we will find out where we are up to in the next few weeks
and find out who has a red hot go even when we are under the pump as we will be for some or all of these games.
My only hope is that we beat those Saints tossers
If we get close to the Hawks and Cats then we will have a really exciting ride this year

Wallace is looking a really good coach again, mainly because he seems to have said if he is going to be judged by how we go this year then he will play the players who will have a crack for him.
And he has developed more better players than I thought we had. All our players will now want to tackle, shepherd etc because they need to do that to get back into the side.

If we can keep going like that then we have at least had a peek around the corner.

I agree, don't see a future for him
I just hear commentators always alluding to the fact that Raines will be back soon like he will just come back into the team straight away

Good post Billy. Seems like that's the case and its paying (early) dividends

Hate to burst your bubble billy but we "won" the wooden spoon last year.
Yes but the draw could have come in handy if we had won another 9 games.

2006 we did not good either, bottom 4 I think.

It was 2005 that we came 9th

I can help here ... one year, in recent past, but not last year, and probably not the year before, we were close.

Last year was really the only bad year for Terry. 10 wins in 2005 with a train wreck list and losing Browny.

2006 11 wins while missing Browny Thursty and Cogs and Newy for large chunks.

2007 = we were gone for all money by round 6 after losing all our rucks, Cogs and Browny preseason and missing Willy T .

But it may have been a watershed year - young kids got promoted and more young kids started starring at the burgers. My only beef with the improvement in Richmond is missing JR, Eddie, Kingy, White, Moore, Morton and others at Coburg. Most of our back six played a fair bit at Coburg in 2007 and most of our new forward line have played there this year.

In the words of Winston Churchill, commenting at the end of the Battle of Britain when Londoners crawled out of thier bombsheldters, surveyed the months of devastation and wanted to hope that somehow they had withstood it and could fight on
(get your Winston Churchill accents ready)

Its not the end.......its not even the beginning of the end.....but it is perhaps the end of the beginning.

I think its apt.
