It is in the Paper today that Jon Hay from Hawthorn is looking for a new home?? Would we be interested?? As we showed this year with Browney we are not too far off it and with the younger guys a year wiser who knows what could happen next year. Now Im not about topping up our list like 2001 onwards but I think Hay could definately fill a major hole for us down back especially with Gaspar having only a couple of years left.
How old is Hay? bout 26-7??
He is a great runner and former AA backmen!!!! What would he be worth and what could we package for him?

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves people!!! In reality we are a long way off it as we showed against some of the better sides this year. We have improved significantly this year, and I would love to see at least some improvement next year, but to say we're not too far off it is dangerous thinking. Need I remind anyone of 2002? And we weren't even as good this year as we were in 2001!

No top-ups!!! We're in this for the long haul, and we must approach things that way. Unless we can somehow poach an out and out star, we need to be reasonably conservative come trade week and save our big game for the drafts. Someone like Hay would be way overpriced, you're not going to get him for a 3rd round draft pick, and to sacrifice more than that for someone like him would be lunacy.

Unless we can come away from potential deals significantly better off, I believe we should just look to offload a couple of blokes  for decent picks if we can, and not much more.

Watched Hay in a couple of games late in the season, this word starting with "D" kept on coming to mind....he's a shadow of his AA form. Beside that, the Hawks will want too much for him...he won't be a late pick like MG.

I'm not against a player like MG coming onboard for a year, but Hay isn't that player

MILLER HAS!!! He is as shifty as a snake GM and has been linked  but is avoiding talking bout it which makes me even more sure that he GM is already sneaking around attempting to arrange trades that will cripple the RFC.

I think he might be getting other teams looking at him (eg. not really wanting HAY but stirring that pot) and hopefully someteam wastes their money and time so we have more of a chance with someone around the corner

From a Hawthorn perspective there may be some interest in Hay I feel. The Roos are very interested, and apparently Freo as well..

The Tigers would have no use for Hay, you need to look for young prospects in the draft, Hay would do a good defensive job and is getting better after recovering from injury. Gaspar was in terrible form after coming back from injury and really improved, Hay is slowly doing the same.

But yeah Tiger's don't need him, this year there are loads of KP options in the draft if the last through to the Tiger's first pick, take them.

You and claw make a lovely couple craig. Boring and cant think out of your little square. You wont get any little rubheads from me. Both duds and I dont post on here just to increase my stats like you have previously posted. Interesting to see that our administrator has posted that we get behind our players for next year but you continually state about our duds still in the team.
