Possibility of being involved in ten goals in 2 games hey - lets work it out - say 192 minutes of ground time (ave 80% of 8 x 30min qtrs) - that's one goal possibility he is involved in for every 19 minutes he is on the ground......plenty of time to get a kip between attempts for snoozy......
::)

I think the decision to keep jay will be like all those nightmares from drafts gone by.

We can bemoan his laziness, we can bemoan lost / mistakes / missed chances in the draft BUT the real propblem lies in the coach.
If he was half as good as he thinks he is why do we have players with ability not producing week after week? Why are talented players lacking belief and heart?

The one decison that will haunt us forever is the decision to get Wallace in the first place and to have him serve out his 5 years when we could all see he simply is not up to it. How sad it is Terry to have a worse record than Frawley. That is so sad Terry...when will we see the promises you have fed us on for 4 and a bit years now come true?

The fact that Jay is so tardy is not totally his doing....the buck stops with the bums on the seats. Lift YOUR game Terry and Co and dont accept the garbage we are seeing....

Terry give someone WHO wants to kick goals a game....give someone who wants to hurt for his jumper a game...get someone who wants to win and believes we can win! PLEASE!

As I have said previously, had he kicked accurately,he would have 6 to his name.He has featured in four assists.21 possessions for the possibility of ten goals, deserves perservering with IMO.Not blinkered at all.

Yes and Eddie the Eagle could have jumped 240 metrres to win the ski jumping gold medal at the Olympics. But he didn't. I think most of have had enough of the 'what ifs' with Schulz. The only serious 'what if' question is what if we had taken pick 28 for him a couple of years back.

At least I am discussing CURRENT matters, not thinking about what could have been with pick 28.How far back do you want to go,we have had plenty of top draft picks, that have just been that-draft.And yes,*smile* didn't kick all the goals that he could of in the last two games, accuracy comes and goes.Just ask Richo.

Shulze is one player you really do need to be at the game to appreciate how lazy & unsupportive of his teammates he is.

We will have players on the wing with the ball looking up desperate for someone to present a viable option in the forward line. Shulze will continually be smoking the pipe 20m out from goal giving nothing.

Thats why has perenially has low possession counts when playing forward.

This is not about other top draft picks, this is about Schulz. And please dont compare Richo and Schulz. Its insulting.

Didn't have to be at the ground to notice that in the first quarter daisy. His intensity was nothing short of pathetic.

Picked up from there and tried much harder in the 2nd & 3rd stanzas. He was much better at the contest even when he didn't win the ball and I am sure you'd have appreciated his tap to Riewoldt for a goal.
Does he get a stat for that or does it only count when JR does something like that? Something about not needing a lot of possessions to make an impact. ;)

However I am not going to dress it up, he is near running on empty unfortunately and I say that because there's been a lot of time invested in Sarge. It's only Richmond's loss if he fails.

If Post was given an opportunity in his place I wouldn't argue the toss.

Better still, we have gone inside 50 almost 100 times, Schulz has played 80% so potentially 80 forward entry opportunities for him, and he has managed to be directly or indirectly involved in "almost" 10 goals - but actually 5 goals according to the AFL website - 3 assists and 2 goals 3 behinds himslef.

I'd guess most supporters would want a little more from your FF.

Richo would have quadroupled that output with the same opportunity. (Richo has actually kicked 3 and had 3 goal assists from his limited time in the forward line).

It was definately a nice bit of thinking for the JR goal, no question.

Not to say he'd make it if he did because he has other flaws, i.e keeping his feet in contests, but if he could present for more contests he will find this AFL caper so much easier for himself.

What is the difference between Jay Schulz and Alistair Lynch formerly of Brisbane ?

Lynch had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, was a match winning full forward and played in a premiership, *smile* looks like he has severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, once kicked 5 at FF and will never play in a premiership.

Yet he still finds supporters.................. amazing

I've backed Sarge for a long time in the hope he'd mature because he's got foot disposal skills and marking ability for a big man that few have in our side. However now I have all but decided his awareness is out to lunch too often to make it.

3 minutes in on Saturday when he was crunched loping on goal, I'd pretty much given up on him.
He was soooo slow to get boot to ball it was plain embarrassing. :brickwall
He didn't provide anywhere near enough leads in that forward 50 that quarter even when we were sending it in.
No intensity whatsoever. That first quarter was terrible from him, just terrible. >:(

He woke up a little after Wallace no doubt tore him a new one at quarter time but sheesus he is playing for his career right now. If he can't get fired up from the opening bounce when he's got a rare chance to cement his spot then he never will. :sleeping

If he's lucky enough to get one more shot against the Dogs, I hope somebody puts Red Bull in his drink bottle because Sarge's clock is almost punched. Maybe it is already.

Allowing for Schulz's time in the back half, these players are statistical twins. Schulz has come under fire for a perceived lack of effort, but Murphy provides even less in the way of contested possessions/tackles/one-percenters. Despite struggling to get a regular game in recent seasons, Freo recently gave Murphy a two-year contract extension.

Both capable of tearing it up in second-tier comps, but neither better than depth players at the top level. It's symbolic of the two clubs' plights that they have invested in such similar players.

So, this time next year it'll be Meyer out to Rodan who turns and lays it up for the leading Shulz in the goalsquare. Just imagine if Hughes makes it there in 2011.

I think Williams should be our next coach. he seems to rate our duds.

Or maybe its a plan of sabotage Chocco is playing at.

Load up the Power side with Richmond duds and stuff em for 3 years whilst he trots over to Victoria to coach another side. ;D

Prolly more likely

I know Chocco is a good coach but I really hope he is not at Richmond at any stage in his career
He just really annoys me, same with Grant Thomas
