I assume he is o.k as he has played the practice games:

RICHMOND star Nathan Brown has told of an off-season health scare that threatened his eyesight.
Brown, 31, contracted an eye disease called pterygium, which can cause blindness if left untreated.
He had surgery in October to remove the growth, which covers the colour part of the eyeball.
"It's a sun spot that grows over your eye and you can end up in pretty big trouble (if it's not removed), so I had to get that scalpelled off," Brown said this week.
"I had a bloodshot eye for about four weeks. It didn't look the best and everybody at the club found it humorous except me."
Brown said effects of the disease meant he was restricted to dark places.
"The pain was ridiculous, like a massive big bit of sand in your eye," he said.
"A lot of surfers get it from the glare off the water, so I don't know how I got it," he said. "I don't surf, I don't ski, so I may have to wear the sunglasses more often."

Have had two eye ops similiar to Browny and can confirm the pain/discomfort due to the stitches. However it is amazing how fast an eye recovers from surgery.

I have that eye disease in my left eye. It is always there just to the side of the color part and rarely it flars up and goes blood shot.It is painful but in my case normaly goes down after a day or two.

Surgery was not recomended for me unless like in nathans case that it does not go down on its own.

Can't believe this. More blatant incompetence from our medical and fitness staff. It was obvious that we rushed Browny back from his broken leg. There's a Danish doctor who specialises in using the secretions of wild Malaysian maggots to treat broken legs who wrote a paper that clearly links rushing elite athlete back from broken legs with eyesight problems. Fred Hollows Foundation are working to prevent the spread of this leg related blindness epidemic all over the world. And what do we do? Nothing! When will we ever catch up with the rest of the comp. Put him in cotton wool - nay, a life support bubble ala Bubble Boy from Seinfeld - (with Foley, Cogs, Sugar and Richo) who can all play Trivial Pursuit together until about Rnd 15 2013.

Just out of interest where did you get that from Liverpool? He's certainly fit and firing and in the best shape he has been in since he broke his leg. Creepy to see he had something else that might have taken him out of form for us. Hopper's idea is not that bad, maybe we should turn him into Bubbleboy.

:rofl.

I have the same condition in both eyes. Had an operation as a kid to get rid of them. Thought it was all pretty cool at the time as I got to wear an eyepatch and was endlessly intrigued by the idea of dissolving stitches.

Got pretty bad in my teens as the eye grew and moved etc. Pretty stable now, gradual deterioration in eyesight but nothing major. Can be uncomfortbale though but it helps living in England!

I always look forward to heading home to Brisbane or Melbourne but whenever I do I usually can't see anything for the duration of my stay!

What's the difference Broady? As in is it sensitive to weather, pollution, etc

I'm staggered how many people have mentioned having this in such a short thread, I've never even heard of it. That in it's self is no big suprise, just appears to be fairly common is all.

Cheers Livers. Much appreciated.

I was hoping it was some source I hadn't heard of I could enjoy regularly checking in on or sometime you find some little pearls from the left field.

Imagine my dissapointment when I saw it was just the HUN. :P

(I can't be bothered with it anymore, I trust on PRE posters in the journo section to keep me in the loop there ;D)
