When this site is down (like last night) it is dead set.........

I must be more addicted to PRE than I thought.

Is there a way of having a banner splash onto a page when we type the website address into the browser to say Site down for repairs or whatever the reason and an ETA till it is back up and running ?

Or an alternate forum or chat site (splashing up an web address) where we can go to find out the problem and how long till back up?

Don't get me wrong I'm definetly not bagging anyone for site being down (I LOVE THIS SITE !) and I can't imagine the immense work behind the scenes by Rosalita and the other moderators to maintain it.........

It is just a huge shock to the system when it happens !

Anyway everything back to normal and heart can return to state of equilibrium..

And now to beat those BUMMERS !!!

Same here, I know sites need the occasional repair/maintenance, but last night and this morning I was in withdrawal. Not complaining though, these things rarely happen and the site is always very easy to get onto and is of an exceptional high standard. Some from saintsational have said that this one is the better of quite a few other clubs.

Whenever PRE goes down it effects everyone. Many of us here use it for our daily footy fix 365 days per year.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but repairs/maintenance does cost, donations would go a long way, to assist in everone's addiction.

There's a bit of an explanation on the Feedback board glove. The problem is when PRE goes down I often don't know the reason either, but am happy to pass whatever I do know on. Even if I don't know any details it's good to share the concerns. ;D

When the site conks out my usual site e-mail does too so an alternative one if people want to contact me is [email protected]. That is my MSN address too, and anyone is welcome to contact me that way as well.

Thankfully our hosts are very reliable and rarely have problems, and when they do it's usually a problem with a router further upstream that affects our hosting. They use the same server for their own websites so we're guaranteed they do everything in their powers to get things up and running again asap.

As far as hosts go I reckon we're pretty spoilt really. PRE is usually very fast and stable. The funny thing is by some coincidence when PRE goes down it seems to be straight after I get an angry e-mail about the site. Maybe it happens to make me take some time out every now and again, otherwise I might just go insane :crazy and don't say it's too late. :hihi
