My two boys have been totally brainwashed since birth to follow the Tiges. The oldest boy (6) is starting to waver.
He has all the gear, goes to all the family days, goes to a few games a year & collects footy cards but up until recently has only shown a passing interest. Last year he announced he had two teams the Tigers and the Power (primarily due to the lightning bolt logo) - I was almost

, but remained calm and subtely reinforced the benefits of barracking for the Tiges if he chose to continue living in this house. :hihi
This season he is taking more of an interest :clap, especially with the games on TV, and the day after the Friday night Collingwood game, excitedly asked;
Boy: Dad, did we win last night?
Dad: We won the first half son
Boy: You cant win a half can you? Who won the whole game?
Dad: Collingwood, but it was very close, they won the second half, we won the first half.
Boy: Walks away, not at all buying the Wallace like spin.
The next day:
Dad: Do want to go to the football next Friday night?
Boy: Who are we playing?
Dad: The doggies
Boy: Yep, I like the doggies and dont care if they win
Dad: Well your not coming then. (Harsh but fair...)
The next day as the Hawks demolish the Roos on TV
Boy: Gee, I really like the Hawkies Dad.
Dad: That's timeout for you. (We'll that's what I felt like doing....)
Would appreciate hearing any strategies that PRE'nders have to keep their kids on the straight and narrow...
