Did we EVER wear Yellow shorts as part of official strip? I didnt think we did, not even in the 70's when the bombers went gay-red....

If thats so, then Im wondering if we are only doing it to celibrate/have some fun with how over the top the colours got when Colour TV came in, right?

I thought they were "official" with us and Essendon and co going colour shorts when colour TV came in.

Apparently we only wore them for one game (against North at Arden Street in 1975), after which Hafey said "We're tigers, not canaries" and put an end to it.

Why don't they get serious with this heritage round. All clubs have woolen jumpers with no logos and sponsor.

KB just said on SEN he could only remember us wearing them once against North (and possibly one other time), so this backs up your understanding.

Now that's heritage...

As a serious suggestion for next year I think they should, along with umpires in traditional uniform set up a full Standing Room bay at one of the Goal ends at each ground. The culture of standing at the Footy is part of our heritage too; and though I wouldnt want to do it every week I would really enjoy it as a once off each year.

I think if they advertised it alot of blokes (and some girls, maybe) would turn up for it. Its much less sterile than a ticketed seat, its gritty, its real brothers!

(I dont think they should allow full strength beer for nostelgia though)

Good to see all clubs embrace the heritage week jumpers.

Except for the Saints. what the >:D was that???

Note to tigers:

DO NOT WHERE THOSE SHORTS AGAIN. YOU LOOKED LIKE BUMBLEBEES!
