Gday, guys long time watcher, first time poster. I will fess up straight away, the tiges are my second tam. Al long way behind the Demons, but a long way in front of anyone else.

I saw Richmond win the flag in 80??, and I remember them being a great team and their crowd being the scariest mob of football barrackers you would ever want to see. The club was ruthless, tough, solid, unified and bloody powerful. I have seen the demise and demise and like the Dees there have been some hellish dark times, although the tiges seem to be experiencing a period like we did in the 70, and early 80's.

Anyway I do sympathise with you guys and I know where you are at. From an outsider perspective this is what I see.

  • Wallace is no good at list development and you guys have been sold a lemon. A very expensive one.
  • There is a few more years of pain yet.
  • You can and will improve but more pain better the glory.
  • The club still has an enormous groundswell of support and once the wheel starts to roll, look out.

Anyway I hope the future is brighter and we dont see more Gaunts, O'Dwyers, Pickerings, Goodwins, Eisholds etc

Edit - Fixed your list. :)

I used to love those days as a kid. I felt safe ensconced in that tribal busom of drunken psychopaths

Welcome graham the gaunt one. With a name like that be ready for a few posters to ask if you are a current listed Richmond player.

Welcome to PRE gg. Your username had me reaching for my Tigers of Old bible. Can't recall ever hearing the name Graham Gaunt...Maybe I'm too young. :hihi

He did ok playing in 5 Richmond premierships but seems he had more senior success playing as a Dee for 5 years.

Hi GG, welcome to PRE, I'm all ears when someone has something to say about our club when they are looking at it from outside the circle.

Quite frankly & personally, if ya ain't a Tiger on this forum, you won't get my respect. In other words, if you were on fire, I wouldn't *smile* on ya.

I met the real GG during a business meeting and he much preferred his time at Melbourne than his time at Richmond. Sme great names listed above of Richmonds mediocrity but you are missing another great ex Tiger and Demon...Phil Egan! Yet another great we let go who went on to play 1 game at their new club (see Daffy, Bourke)
