Howdy all,
Now that 2005 is over, I found myself looking back on the season, thinking what our club have achieved this year, and the highlights that will stay with me for a long time.
3 games stand out:
Brisbane at the Gabba.
A great win in a real pressure game, really exciting to be there in enemy territory, and going to the after-match party. I still have a headache ;D
Carlton at the G.
What can one say about a record-breaking demolition of the hated ones. Fantastic :spin
Port at Telstra.
Half way through the 2nd quarter, had that sick feeling in the guts that the Premiers were about to wipe the floor with us. Enter Tuck and Simmo - charging contests, splitting packs, and the whole game changed.
Players:
Tuck - it's all been said.
Delidio - it's been a long time since we've been this excited about a player. Could be anything.
Browny - was taking the competition apart until 'that game'. Added a whole new dimension to the forward structure.
Gaspar - finally got a proper pre-season into his legs, and was almost back to his All-Australian best.
Add the exciting potential of Tambling, Meyer, and Pattison.
And a couple more mentions: Chaffey re-invented, Pettifer improved, Simmo starting to show what he is there for, and Sarge finally getting some decent game time. Expecting big things from Simmo and Sarge next year.
