Hird's tackle

I could see the tackle coming before the handball.
Best thing Meyer could have done was not accept the handball and throw his arms in the air and try to milk the free kick as hird grabbed him.
But then again it looks so easy from the couch.

Absolutely and then Richo completely smashed Michael...........

Same with the Johnson 50M compared to the Hird no 50M.

Fletcher had his hands more obviously in the back of Richo twice in the 2Q and no deal. I thought the new rule would favour Richo, but he just doesn't seem to get them as often as he should.

how true i 2 thought he would get a better deal from the umps with the new interp ,but i guess hes not one of the protected few!!

Why hasn't anybody mentioned Newman's tackle on Winderlich during that last quarter?

Newman, back from a broken leg....played all game running around half back....and then in the last quarter, when his gut would be busting, chases down that little road-running bastard Winderlich right when he was about to pull the trigger on goal.
Tackle of the year, I reckon! :clap

A sensational, inspirational effort which went unrewarded by the 3 little green men. How this was not a free kick still has me scratching me you know whats. Fortunately it did not cost us a goal.

Have not been able bring myself to see the replay yet. But if memory serves me right, from that tackle, we ran the ball out wide to Tivendale and his kick to the now infamous "hand on the back" call.
