Hi all.
Here is a tough one!
I am undertaking the task of documenting those who have been 'acting captains' for Richmond between 1908- 2005. So if anyone can provide me with any information of any year (courtesy of Football records/ newspaper cuttings/ personal memories), then feel free to drop a response.
I have a large list at the moment, but rather than post it here, I will just collate each persons response and check them against my list.

Rhett,

There was an Escort Cup match at the beginning of 1980 (Richmond Vs Melb.);
The Tigers were using this match to decide who who captain the side that year;
From memory, there may have been a few acting Captains around this time, with Monteath getting the nod.
Later on that season, I'm sure there was an acting captain, due to the injury Monteath suffered before the finals.

Bryan Wood may have missed a game in 1981 at Victoria Park;

Hope this helps.
