There is a deep seated, ingained culture problem. yes this is the obvious, an inexperienced coach could be the lamb to the slaughter, but on Hardwick at least he was a tough mother and would perhaps coach the same way. Besides this there are no experienced coaches around.

As for Sheedy, I don't agree he missed his chance to come back, he wanted to stay at Windy Hill so this case is closed.

As far as going no where as a club. I wish I could disagree with you but I can't. Forget 2011, we are not even close. We should be making and playing regular finals by now. On our current path 2011 is a fairytale and dream only for the dumb to believe.

No, I am not laughing you off, I personally don't find anything funny about our recent history, I am very very concerned about us.

Everyone stop discounting Sheedy's ability!

Stop and think for a minute.

The Richmond Football club would be turned upside down and inside out by Sheedy's sheer presence. This is what the club desperately needs.

We cannot continue on this path of poor leadership. It start's with the coach and his assistants, our current coaches have no presence and it is very clear that they do not command the respect of the playing group.

A coach like Hardwick does not have the experience to turn a club upside down, and this is the only thing that will start to reverse the crap this club dishes up year in year out.

Why are the AFL trying to get Sheedy to coach the new team in west sydney?

They know he has the knowledge and ability to build a team up from the very bottom. That fellow tigers is us.....we are the shark droppings of the AFL and are in need of an extraordinary upheavel.

Tony Free here is your first major task, get rid of Wallace like we know you want to and get Sheedy before year's end before we ruin the career of Trent Cotchin, Rance, Putt, Gourdis etc.

When Kevin Sheedy left Richmond and was appointed coach of Essendon he ripped the heart and soul out of the Richmond Football club. Sheedy nows exactly what the Tigers need and he is the only person that can fix what he wrecked. I would give Sheedy 3 years to fix up the Tigers in what ever capacity he wanted at the club. He has the Footy Smarts and one big plus he can develope young footballers and he could groom the next coach. Remeber he built Essendon into a powerhouse. Wether you like him or not he will get the job done and that is the bottom line.

drastic action is needed. we need to break the mold. Merge with melbourne and move to tasmania. take the money draft picks and infusion of new talent on the administration front that sich a strategy would bring.

Sheedy has gone soft as he matures into grey power membership - the way he left the Essendon list was particularly poor - Sheedy is not the answer - if we go down that path we will have a side of aboriginals and experiments.

The answer to your question is very simple - but will take a huge amount of courage from the President to do - when a commercial organisation is in disarray like the RFC they bring in a group of Management Consultants, Time and Motion experts and Auditors - they go through the organisaion from the board level down to the guy who sweeps the factory floor - interview and understanind everybody's role in the organisation and everybody's understanding of the organisation and where it is headed.

Amazingly Geelong did it a couple of years ago and the streamlining of the on and off field Cats was rewarded with premiership success - now we are no where near where Geelong was in player list capability but we are in exactly the same boat as they were for organisational disarray with rumours and culteral issues everywhere.

Collingwood did the same thing a long time ago and they too lifted their on and off field performances.

We need an independent - no holds barred honest assessment of where everything in the club is at - from that report we then need to commence all the recommendations to complete a fair dinkum overhaul of the whole club - Totally - no body should be left alone no stone unturned - coiteire groups - gold silver members who have access to the players - building assessments as to our club house and players rooms.

If there is one sniff of an obstacle or a set up or a request for leaneancy by anybody the president or the board included - if anybody asks the independent assessment to turn a blind eye then the person perpertrating this should be sacked immediately and never ever readmitted to the club.

We as paying members deserve to know from a truly independent body what is going on - because we have been treated like mushrooms for too long - kept in the dark and feed *smile*.

That is the answer - and it works because I just did it to two companies I own and they are now beginning to perform towards their potential......RT

sheesh how many times does it need to be said. the only time any teams develop winning culture is when they develop a list thats actually capable of winning. winning games in the age of the draft before you build a list only does long term damage. lets get the horse before the cart ffs.
