PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Had an e-mail exchange with Momentai, over the weekend.
It related to the effect that losing AIG as a sponsor would have on the RFC finances for 2008/2009.
Even if it was temporary, there is no doubt that there would be some effect on the club finances.

So Momentai put forward a great idea.
Just as the Draft Preview Night puts a clear $5,000+ in the hands of the footy dept,
What other suggestions can PREnders think of to raise some extra moneys to get our Club by this temporary hitch during the off-season and after.

Personally, I didn't want to post this without putting forward a starting suggestion.
My general feeling is that if we can facilitate opportunities for the Club to get players & supporters together more, then this could raise extra funds.

Some ideas came to mind as follows:
1. Combining RFC / RCC / supporters into combined teams to play in a 20/20 such cricket comp. Not just one match, but a few over various locations to maximise supporter participation. Say $200 per participant.
2. Combining groups again into a water polo or aquatic competition at the Mandie Pool at the Club. Say $200 per participant.
3. A kids sporting day, swimming & cricket, with entry fees, with awards presented by Tiger personalities.
4. Dinner with a Tiger.....

Otherwise the membership dept of the RFC could become more socially oriented and organise RFC member competitions with awards being presented by personalities.

Just a few thoughts.

It would be great to read some of your own.
