How did the teams go in the draft?
Here's my opinion on each team.
Adelaide, 3 of 4 - Don't know Vince, but they did very well in picking up Douglas (inside midfieldr), Pfeiffer (gutsy HBF), and Obst (CHB).
Brisbane, 2 1/2 of 4 - Question over Clark (Rk/Fwd), Mills (CHB) & Hooper (RR) were great pickups. IMO Patfull is not up to it.
Carlton, 3 1/2 of 4 - Murphy (C), Kennedy (CHF/CHB), Bower (CHB) are all quality players. Edwards (CHF) could go either way.
Collingwood, 2 of 5 - Thomas (HFF), Pendlebury (W) & Stanley (HBF) are 50/50. Cook & Anthony are ordinary. Very ordinary effort by the Pies who stuffed up completely.
Essendon, 3 1/2 of 5 - Ryder (Rk/Fwd), Dempsey (W), & Lonergan (Rr) are all quality players. Lucy (FB) 50/50 on pace, Neagle (FF) won't make it.
Fremantle, 2 1/2 of 3 - Drum (FB), Ibbotson (HBF) are quality players. Warnock (Rk) 50/50.
Geelong, 2 1/2 of 5 - Varcoe (Rr) if fit a quality player, T West (Rk) 50/50, Owen (HFF), Gamble (W), Stokes (21yo Rr) are all ordinary footballers.
Hawthorn, 6 of 6 - Ellis (W/HBF), Dowler (FF), Birchall (W/HBF), Bailey (Rk), Muston (RR) & Tuck (W/RR) are all quality players. Muston will rely on recovery of fitness.
Kangaroos, 2 1/2 of 4 - Riggio (RR), Swallow (Rr) are good players. Green (BP) is ordinary. Don't know much about Hutchison (Rk).
Melbourne, 2 1/2 of 4 - Jones (RR) is excellent, Buckey (RR) & Bartram (RR) are 50/50. Neville (HBF) may not make it.
Port, 3 of 4 - Lower (W/HBF) will be a serviceable player, Carlisle (tall BP) is 50/50, Minson (Rk) will make it in time. Don't know much about Giles (Rk/Fwd).
Richmond, 2 1/2 of 3 - Oakley-Nicholls (W) is 50/50. Hughes (FF) is a quality player. Casserly (HBF) will be fine.
St Kilda, 2 of 4 - Gilbert (CHB) was an excellent pick up. Rix (Rk/Fwd), Raymond (HFF) & Sweeney (HFF) are less than 50/50.
Sydney, 3 of 3 - Laidlaw (RR/HBF), Thornton (W/RR), & Brabazon (RR) are all quality runners.
Westcoast, 2 1/2 of 3 - Hurn will probably make it. McKinley (HFF) is a sensation. Spangher (CHB) will probably make it, but needs full fitness.
Bulldogs, 4 of 5 - Higgins (RR), Addison (W) are very good players. Baird (FF) will probably make it. Montgomery (HBF) is a Mark Graham job. West (FF) is a 50/50 based on hs dicky knee.
So that's how I see it.
