Theres nothing to work out thats the beauty of it, it's not like they can play three players on him like they do up forward. the only thing that will stop him is age and injury (god help us). yeah we probably have been better off but we have already gone through the pain and now we have trent cotchin for our troubles.

I think there's plenty that can be done. Everyone knows for example that he has poor disposal under pressure and can easily turnover a ball in the backline or in a critical position on the ground. I'm not saying they will find away, but it will be interesting to watch the progression.

Yeah , i'm not so sure he would have been as good at it years ago,

He had the legs, but not sure about between the ears,

The modern Richo seems alot more relaxed and able to make decisions under pressure,

He used to panic alot more, his disposal was alot worse than now.

I find it hard to believe how Ling will tag Richo out the game.

huh? Tagging won't be the way.

Richo is just doing what Adam Goodes has done for the last 5 years, will be good to see them play on each other in a few weeks time. Goodes is the few players that I see in the AFL capable of covering Richo.

Although, I think that Ling might get the gig in the next game and that will be worth watching.

He'll destroy Ling. Won't be the matchup, Agree with the Goodes call though, certainly that is the type if there's ever going to be.
I don't think Geelong will worry too much about stopping Richo, he's dominating and yet we still aren't winning. They have plenty of weapons that we'll have to work out how to curb.

Interesting to see Kouta's calls again this week on Richo being the best he played on or with during his career.
I don't think there's many at all who can go one on one with the great man.

I reckon Richo used to think he always had something to prove and that he needed to always do that bit extra. With the end of his career in sight, it seems to me he is happy to stand aside and let others take some of the heat. As a consequence, the pressure has eased and he is able to just "play footy" again.

Sound deduction Freezer

I honestly believe that if Richo had been playing that role 4 years ago, we wouldn't be seeing him play today. Richo being Richo, he would have run himself into the ground, week after week. Even the coaches are saying that they have to pull him up at training because he tries to do to much now :) .His body would be worn out.
Then again, he wouldn't have been battered in that role like he is in the forward line. Who knows, maybe if he did, he wouldn't be able to run around today, and he is plonked just in the goal square, like alastair lynch late in his career.

Great to see him play as if each game was his last.

I'm still not sold on the role. I just get the feeling the opposition will work something out sooner or later. Enjoying it while it works though, he's been unbelievable.

There is no tactic to stop Richo in this role.

Ling knows where to run to but is not fast. Richo ran Hodge off his feet when the Dawks tried to get him to negate Richo Man in the 2nd half but he destroyed him so I cannot see Ginger Nuts keeping up with him.

Let the Brumby run!!!

Both would have been better off. Richmond would have been forced to draft and groom key forwards with early picks instead of assuming that Richardson would play forever, and thereby leaving the list in a much better position when he eventually retires. And Richardson himself might have already won a brownlow medal (and make that two or three if he had played most of his career in that position).
