PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Whilst I love our kids and Wallace's youth policy, I really think we are far from the best in terms of young lists.  I dont think this view is shared by many around PRE!  However a Bigfooty poll (yes I know its Bigfooty!) asked who has the best list and the results are interesting;

Hawthorn 23%
To me the masters of recent drafting, trading hacks for high picks and playing kids to ensure their ladder position is perfect for yet another killer draft.  They will probably hit paydirt again this year with trading Everitt.

Carlton 16%
Not a bad effort considering they lost all those draft picks.

Melbourne 16%
Big beneficiaries of their yo yo performances, getting priority picks one year and being solid finalists the next.  I reckon they have good scouting department though.

Port 12%
Not bad for a recent premiership team.

Brisbane 9%
Brilliant effort by their scouting department considering their ladder position.

Richmond 9%
We have so much more work to do with our drafting and rookie'ing over the next few years if we are to have any chance in our '2004 superdraft' player era.

Essendon 7%
Hard to knock this team, they have always plucked kids from obscurity.

Collingwood 7%
Still cant believe scumwood got priority picks last year after doing a 'lay down sally'!

I would personally rate the Bulldogs ahead of a few here - Cooney, Griffen, Ray etc

I would also say we have the best coach of the lot - and I'm hoping that just may be the difference in coming years.
