Ever the optimistic fool I am I was wondering how high we could finish this year if we got rapid improvment from certain young guys such as Shultz,Wil,Raines in the back half,Lids,Bling,Foley,Polo in the guts,Pato, Clever,Jacko up forward or even older players such as Paddy B ,D rod or Krak?

I still think if we got rapid improvement from these players, we would still finish around about the same as last year. I've taken into account the possibilty of injuries, which will put pressure on our depth. We do have more depth coming through, but not enough for us to take the next step.

While the above mentioned players by yourself, will hopefully step up, there is still too much responsibilty for our older players. Until the current 3rd or 4th year players are proven regulars who HAVE taken the next step, and can shoulder some of the workload more frequently, we will rely on having no injuries to make the 8 this year.

I can see in another year or so, when the 3rd and 4th year players have developed fully and the next lot of kids starts coming through, then we will have a wider choice of depth, thus enabling us to be more of a force.

Ever the optimist, i pray we have no serious injuries, our 3rd and 4th year players to start to make an influence on the game, and our kids at Coburg get rewarded for good footy by being given a taste of seniors.

If the players described make a 'rapid improvement', then we'll make the finals for suuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre.

If only.......................

Good summary BA. That is what we all hope for, but being realistic I think we will finish outside the 8.
Next year however... ;D

I think we will finish in a similar ladder position to last year, however, I would be rapt if we made the finals so the young players can get a bit of experience in the pressure cooker that is september footy.
