How I wish!!

Good thread but all too familiar.

Unless some sound policy is made by those who are setting the footballing plan, nothing changes.

Unless we pick a style of football tht gets you into the top four and gives you a continued chance of victory, nothing changes.

Unless we have a long term view and are willing stick to the style we adopt, we will be forever lamenting the problem of our poor foot skills.

Where are the Leon Cameron type players? Silky smooth on both feet. I wish for a group of them to be drafted by the Tigers.
I wish for: A back that can kick over the the zone to a leading player (and hit him every time) 60 metres away. Forget chip, chip, chip, handball and footskill clanger, opposition goal.
I wish for: A Disco Roach Full Forward that you don't have to cross your fingers, arms and legs and offer a prayer to get the ball through the big sticks.
I wish for: Midfielders that can hit a leading forward lace out 9 times out of ten.
I wish for: Succesive finals appearances.
I wish for: The same thing that I have been wishing for the past 27 years

Sure is TM. Nice pick. I've read that he was a good bloke all round. ::)

Actually, I think athletes with poor footskills are an epidemic in AFL footy period. I am continually amazed when I get to see an NTFL game that the kicking for goal is so much better! Blokes don't regularly shank it out of bounds from 30m directly in front.

As for RFC, is it really that we recruit poor kicks or is it that the successful clubs simply develop their players better? A club like the Crows is a sucessful club who regularly make the finals and expect the players to get the best out of themselves. They have leaders who are champs and set an example at training. I think this is the problem as much as poorly skilled players.

Could be worse......Rhys Shaw's disposal on Saturday night was embarrassing at best. His vision & awareness is appalling!!!!
