how many 1st round picks do we have at our club?

by my count we have 10 1st round draft picks playing for our club (one quarter of our list) so why is our club performing so pooly?

there may be more but that's all i can remember. i'm sorry terry but after two seasons from you
(three drafts) and four from greg as recruiter (5 drafts) the spindoctoring is starting to wear thin paticularly when you project four years down the track is when our premiership opportunity opens. how many first round picks do you need to build a premiership side? in four years we will lose *smile* and have another four more 1st round picks this means that the 2011 side could have as many as 13 1st round picks in it.
any half decent coach could win a premiership with that many 1st round picks playing in his side. maybe terry is realising that his skills as a coach are not as good as he thought they were. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Carlton are on the right track. It's not a matter of how many you have, it's what do you do with them.

It's not all about the number of first rounders in your team. It is also about, their maturity, their physical development and their coaching. Most of our first rounders are under 22, thus not ready yet.

Do some math. Four rounds make 64 picks, usually not many more picks each year. Given that first rounders should play more games than fourth rounders, why is surprising that 1/4 of our list are first rounders. It should be more and it would be if we hadn't given away so many in the last 10 years.

Not sure you can really call Polak a first rounder anymore - unless you are calling him that based on Freo's pick - think he lost that one in all honesty. Polak effectively came to us for a third round pick and slightly downgraded first pick as i recall. Same view of Fiora at StKilda now really - hardly a first rounder anymore (though he is playing better among better players)
