How many frees did that umpire No. 32 pay against us?? Especially for so called holding the ball. So, he may have only umpired something like 5 games, but he sure sent the members near us ballistic.

the push in the back to morton that wasn't paid in last quarter was deadset the worst umpiring decision i have ever seen. richo was held everytime he went for a mark and was only paid one

Thought most of those decisions for holding the ball were there. Our blokes showed little awareness, perhaps indicating they weren't 100% switched on. Thought Richo was stiff though, McPharlin was all over him and chopping arms as well.

McPharlin was all over Richo for most of the day ... until he ran out of steam in the last qtr and Richo got away from him. The soft fwd frees that Freo got compared to the many missed forward frees for the Tigers was disgraceful ...

He was all over Richo so much I couldn't recognise Richo in the Freo jumper at times!

"Hopper" - thanks for setting this post straight.

The issue should not be the average umpiring - but rather the fact that our players kept getting caught with the ball.

Does Jackson have any peripheral vision???? :-[

Edwards getting dragged down - when he was already running in front of the player ??? ::)

Time and time again i am amazed by the lack of vision - and the amount of "hospital passes" is at time amazing.

Poor umpiring at times - YES - but please don't allow that to excuse some really really bad decision making :(

I think sometimes we can be a bit harsh on the player. I agree that Jackson has a lack of peripheral vision and that is why he gets caught alot more than others. Edwards example was a bit harsh. Split-second decisions are often made and players do not have eyes in the back of their heads. I would seriously look at the level of talk on the ground as a possible reason. We can probably never tell ourselves, but Im sure the coaching staff would know if there is not enough talk on the ground, you know the 'youve got 10' or 'youre hot youre hot'.

There was someone in the goal square watching Edwards run in. He should have been told to either handball it off, or kick it straight off.

Whats with the bagging of Jacko again? He spent a hell of a lot of game time working in tight traffic and most times found a way through to our advantage. Was rated in the Hun among our best players.
Perhaps less of our players would get caught with the ball if more teammates called them or maybe provided a shepherd when the heat is on.
