5 they dont have the brains to tank.

if carlton melb and us all get 4.5 wins or less the order will be priority pick 1 carlton priority pick2 richmond priority pick 3 melb then it goes in finishing order.

So carltank would have picks 1(pp) and 4
Richmond picks 2(pp) and 5
melbourne picks 3 and 19 (pp)
carltank and Richmonds priority pick prior to ND round1 because they've won less than 4.5 wins for at least 2 seasons
melbourne ND pick 1 (in reality pick 3 after 2 pps to carltank and Richmond) and their pp prior to ND round2 pick 19 as they only qualify for having won less than 4.5 wins for one season.

my bad. thats right willo was thinking melb had a second rnd pp last yr.

4 wins, hopefully enough to get the p-pick ahead of Carlton (again) and the new coach can actually do something right with recruiting from the start and show us how much crap we have swallowed in the past 4-5 seasons by pretenders.

Thanks Claw, Willo

I was not sure who got what pick if Carltank and us had the same wins this year or the overall for 2 years?

this is a real stuff up, i don't know why the system can't use common sense and get rid of this PP.

First pick should go to the bottom team, pick 2 to 15th and so on.

Fonzy and AA have got it wrong, there are all sort of variables that can happen in a season, and I am stuffed to work out how a team who finishes last is not worthy of the first pick. It is the principal involved here and i would say the same about it happening to another team.

Careful.

Could be Gold Coast pick 1. >:(

That gone thrown up already and the word is they may do a spillover of a draft of sorts from those players who miss out in the national draft of 2009 or uncontracted in players pre-season drfaft 09 being sent up there spending a year up on ice in the local comp under that club's banner before they eventually start the club in the AFL.

If that happens considering the notion that all uncontracted players in the lead up to 2010 will have right of passage to the new Gold Coast club and expect that the AFL will give them 1 or 2 priority picks in 2009 in addition, then 16 clubs cough up 1.5 players (avg) the list = 24 and then 2 Priority draft picks = 26, add 2 0r 3 players in addition as part of the national draft = 30 and the spill overs or zone preferences mentioned they then get their list pretty much in place.

Qn is who from Richmond is out of contract between now and 2010? Raines has already been labelled, could this be right?

Nah. If we all get less than the 4.5 wins the pick order for priorities will depend on ladder positions for us and Cartoon as we will both be eligible for the predraft priority. Melb would get their priority at the end of round one as I think they got more than 4.5 wins last year.
If Cartoon finished below us on percentage they would get 1-3 we would get 2-4 picks would then run till everyone had a pick then Melb would get the priority before the start of round two of the draft.

Deepends whether Walla$e and Miller are still there for the whole season. If they are I predict less than 4 wins
