I find it amusing that the AFL are now talking about investigating Akermanis for allegedly bringing the game into disrepute for speaking out about suspected drug use. He did not name the player and probably used the wrong forum to voice his opinions, but in light of everything else that has gone on with the Cousins issue, and the Dale lewis saga a few years back you have to wonder just how serious the AFL are about drugs in sport.
Seems to me they are more concerned about covering up the issue rather than tackling it head on.
If you were and AFL player you wouldn't be too encouraged about speaking out would you.
Many a player or former player has been outspoken in the media before, but first time I've heard or one of them being investigated for bringing the game into disrepute.
