Bit confused over the new rule covering kicking out before the umpy has finished waving the flag after a point scored.
Up till now, the player has had to wait until the flag is finished being waved and no player is allowed within a certain radius of the goal square...10 metres....or thereabouts, I think.
Consider this scenario if you will. Team A is kicking for goal. Team B has a heap of players in the goal square. Team A player kicks a point and the umpire starts to wave the flag. A team B player grabs the ball and wants to kick it immediately. There are still players milling about the square, or close to it. So what does the player do?? Can he still kick it, or even handball it??
