PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Each year, we look at the draft camp & state screening results to see who the likely lads are come November.

Avidly, we look for sub-3sec for 20m sprints & beep tests of at least 13.5, and hopefully in excess 14.

But what yardstick do we have?

How much better do they need to improve to be AFL standard?

In the next few weeks I'm attempting to badger my contacts at the RFC to release this data on our current list of players.
Eg,
Beep & VO2M tests
3km times
20m sprints
Agility tests

How much of a difference is there between a 17yo boy's fitness & a mature senior player?
How much does that 17yo boy need to improve, once drafted?

Maybe our Matt Hornsby can make a contribution.
I look forward to the results, when I have them, and your thoughts.
