How's the side looking with current players

These are the guys I will be looking for a genuine marked improvement from next season if we are ever going to ever get any better:

Deledio Should keep improving
Tambling Should keep improving
Schulz I fear we've seen his best - gone end of 2008

Polak This is probably his best
Raines Please can we have a Rising Star season again
McGuane Should keep improving
Polo We got little from him 2007 - expect a much better 2008
Hughes I expect a huge improvement inot 2008 (better be!)
Casserley One game would be an improvement.
JON MMMmmmm - hard to know what to expect - his worst is horrible
Graham Should keep improving
Coughlan If his knee is good will be like getting a top 10 draftee

FWIW I expect a bottom 2 finish.

That spells doom for someone.

Add a better year from Simmo (though his illness might not let us see his best again), and remember Browny's influence towards the end of the season saw us win a few games.

We could be big improvers with things falling our way - but that would take some luck! A better draw, Cotchin, a surprise PSD get and we could be 9-12 again - BUT, this depends on the improvement or otherwise of others.

And sorry Craigy, but your abject misery is too predictable to be considered

Miller and Wallace are the cause of my abject misery.

Nah, you're just seeing the rash, look deeper Craig ;D

Depends what causes the rash!

For me I want some hard bodied buggers and some KPP. I do not think the RFC will see a need until Richo hangs up the boots or is forced to because of injury and then the rock of Gibraltar will fall on their heads.

King Thursfield Bowden
McMahon Polak Newman
Tambling Coughlan Morton
Pettifer Schulz Raines
Brown Richardson Riewoldt
Simmonds
Deledio
Foley

Inter: Johnson Tuck Graham Edwards

which leaves for Coburg:

Meyer Moore McGuane
White Hughes Casserley
JON Hyde Tivendale
Peterson Pattison Jackson
pick 19 pick 35 psd pick 1
Ronaldson*
Cotchin
Howat

Finish 12th

Bottom 2. Backline will concede the odd cricket score, we will get pumped out of the middle due to having no ruckman and one decent clearance player, won't kick goals because the chip, chip crap we play doesn't lend itself to high scores. However, our vast array of flankers will rack up countless, meaninsless possessions.

May improve on this year's 3 wins but not by much. Would expect the tanking talk to begin from about round 15 when we are on 2 or 3 wins for the year. Then we can go though all of this trade week rubbish again.

Will finish 13th at absolute best they wont get better than that.

Im actually tipping 16th also.

The improvement required is just not in that list, theres no depth no strength no size and not enough talent and leadership.

Ok...I agree with everyone that thus far we haven't adressed our glaring weaknesses.

But what if we pick up a KPP in the PSD. What if we get Cogs back to full strength? What if Simmonds comes back strongly?
What if Deledio takes it up a notch? What if Patto puts on another 10 pounds? What if Tambling takes another step forwards? What if McMahon and Morton add some skill and are re-juvinated at Tigerland? What if Riewoldt adds 10 pounds? What if Connors comes on strongly and plays every game? What if the 2nd pick in this years draft adds another dimension to the side? What if Rainesy gets back to a year like last year over this one? What if Bowden gets back to his best .. both Bowdens. What if Foley makes the AA side ... What if Polo is available for the whole season... What if some of Peterson, Collins, Casserly become solid senior players. What if Pettifer plays the year like he played the last part of the season? I could go on...but I have already bored us all....

There are so many places the Tigers can improve next year that there is a small window of chance we may actually do ok. I won't go as far as to say they make the finals...but they could definatley improve as the younger players with smaller bodies will become older players with more man type bodies and they will have more experience.

If the draft scenario works out that we get Cotchin and one of the two premier backline players in the draft (has to be done over a ruckman even though this years reasonable for rucks)...then if in the PSD we add a quality KPP, the sum of talent introduced to the team is far greater than the sum of talent that will be leaving. That means the GM and co have done well...If we fail to land a kpp in the PSD and can not land a quality defender with pick 18 then we have really stuffed up...

Are there any decent KPP's available in the PSD?

IF "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have an awesome christmas.

To many in your post to even consider a lift past 12th spot. Injuries to 1 ruck or 1 inside mid, and the season is screwed beyond repair.
