In recent times due to my preference in watching channel 9, I have had the misfortune to come across Craig Hutchinson on semi regular basis on the News and unfortunately on the Footy show.
I don't know Craig personally, and he may be a nice fellow... but I find his demeanour somewhat disturbing when it comes to Football reporting and get a serious feeling watching this bloke that he is a bottom feeder in terms of football news. I either turn it off or walk away while he peddles his wares of rumour and allegation. An example of this was the story about Stephen Johnsons father. I am not interested in Stephens Johnsons Dad getting charged with Assault. What tripe...Not sure what that has to do with football.
Gossip and speculation. I never did see anything come of it, nor did I care.
Dissapointingly he has also turned up on the back page of the Sunday Age Sports section. ( Lucky the Sunday Age also has the "About last Night column" otherwise I would be cancelling my subscription).
His so called record in getting the "Big Stories" through out his career to date has consisted of taking insignificant pieces of tripe and beating them up as much as possible.
It smacks more of self aggrandisment rather than journalistic skill...Interestingly he worked for Ch7 when they Didn't have the football in recent times. Sort of reminds me of the last Kid that gets picked for the school footy team syndrome...
