Tell me which one of Reiwoldt, Edwards, Connors and Collins is a forward flanker BBC.

Oooh geez Duckman. I would have thought Collins is your archetypal hff. He played a lot there for Bendigo as well and played there and on the wing on Sunday.

Fair enough. A couple of people have said he's capable of winning a bit of his own ball so I didn't think that suited the HFF tag. Either way, it's not like we used our premium picks on flankers last year. In effect, with the Polak trade, our first two picks were KPP's. Some people just aren't happy unless they're having a whinge.

So you think our drafting has been spot on?

I dont like having a whinge believe it or not, would much rather be in the WCE shoes having a successful club - but it's not to be, so as a member and devout supporter of my club I have a right to voice my concerns!

My concerns are we have recruited too many similar types while neglecting our structure which is the most important aspect to developing a Premiership contender. If I am proved wrong believe it or not again, I will say I was wrong and be over the moon at the fact my opinion was folly! All I want is a successful Richmond - to me thats the most important thing.

Flankers (back and forward) recruited in recent years include: Hartigan, Jackson, Gilmour, Tambling, Meyer, Oakley-Nichols, Casserly, Collins, Clingan.

Ruckmen recruited in the last few years include: Angus Graham.

We are currently exposed for our lack of key position and ruckmen.

Depends when we're talking about. From 2004 on, I think it's not bad. The only pick I was really puzzled by was JON, but there were alot of people in WA and in general that rated him very highly. Other than that, yeah, not bad. They picked up KPP's in 04 (16), 05 (24), 06 (12) plus Polak. Yes the ruck situation looks bad now but as has been mentioned by others, take the top 2 ruckman out of any teams list and most of them are going to be in trouble.

Obviously Wallet is building a team for speed and skill, but he's also clearly not abandoning drafting for structure also.

And bob, I was aiming the whinging comment at BBC for his sooky little HFF comment.

Pattison?

Tambling was purely a midfielder in his junior career. Same with Casserly. Collins is hardly a pure flanker given his draft review says he played "mostly in the midfield" during his junior years. Clingan is also described as a midfielder in most places. Gilmore was an inside midfielder. So, considering you're talking about 4 drafts, it's not as bad a you're making it out to be, is it?

Sorry about my rant then......

I'm not happy with the recruiting though, too many outside, non structure types. Even Riewoldt and Hughes have question marks as being true KPP, but as I say I am happy to be proved wrong. (By the way am not saying Riewoldt was a mistake, actually liked that pick just saying previosly there havebeen mistakes)
