have never a huge fan of kane and his disposal, but loved his leadership qualities tonight which is what a leader should do....he is what we have so deal with it......

prefer to look at the positives that came from the game to tonight, thought simmonds game was fantastic, rainesy game great and young dan jackson terrific game (needs to work on his kicking) and NOT with richo, whoever was it that had the idea of richo teaching the kicking @ TIGERS T.A.F.E. needs to have their head read....

Agree Tigers 80. also not a great fan of Kane but his leadership was good, particularly early. I'm still gutted about Will and poor Jay cant take a trick either.  I was looking forward to some young talls develop but it looks lke it will never happen.  Tragic to see agreat young talent like Will struck down - life's just not fair sometimes (all the time if your a tiges supporter.)

im noticing more and more on this website that people are becoming so black and white about whether they like a player or not. Those that despise a player hate them so much they go out and buy hate glasses which make it impossible to see the good things they do ;D

I certainly don't hate our captain....but you must admit there is some merit to this thread. I think that Kane is a good leader, however he did not have a good game last night. We were discussing it at the ground and his turnovers and hospital passes certainly stood out to us. This may have been the case as it contrasted harshly with a lot of our younger players who were having a red hot go and running the lines a bit, however I was disappointed to see it get turned over by our captain on so many occasions. Kane is one of harder in and under midfielders and I am going to assume that last night was abberation.

GO TIGES!

Overall I feel a lot happier than last week,

Yes you do expect your side to have a red hot go even if you lose,

But at the same time ,there are concerns about being feeling happy when you lose,

signs of a losing culture.

Its all confusing.

Will you mob get behind our players - instead of pouring absolute drivel upon them.

Johnson had a strong game last night - because he helped limit the very strong St Kilda mid-field - and was responsible for the hard inside work that enabled us to sweep it out of the centre on a number of occassions - all players - even the BOG Lenny Hayes made disposal mistakes last night under the extreme pressure.

Did the Saints Harvey cut us to threads last night like he has on numerous previous occasions - no - because Johnson ran with him all night.

Johnson's leadership was a major element in our form reversal last night if not the catalyst for it.

My opinion...............

Coughlan spent a lot of time on Harvey from what I noticed RT. Just watching the replay again so I'll keep an eye out for it.

You could be right - I did notice Johnson running with Harvey on many occasions last night - they may have tagged teamed him as he seems to be the go to man in the heat of the packs - his deft handballs and deflections enables the likes of Hayes and Del Santo to gain open space. By nullifying him we went a long way to breaking even in the centre.

Will be interested in your assessment after the replay......cheers RT

What is it with Johnson's ridiculous 20 metre worm burning passes that never hit his intended teammate on the chest?

??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Unlike some, i have nothing but respect for his character, but a captain also needs to inspire the team with his skill as well as his courage, otherwise we would have made Tim Flemming captain  :-X .

I don't know if anybody else noticed, but on two occasions when Bowden was kicking out from full back, Johnno was totally on his own on the back flank and Bowden just ignored him and looked for another option !!!!

What does it tell you when players have so little confidence in their captains skills they refuse to kick to him in a pressure situation ??
