the point is Stuggles, that making inane, repititive, unconstructive, criticisms of the Club is not the only way (or Any way) to show that you care. I care passionately about the club -and all the things you mentioned, but I simply refuse to fall into this mentality of turning on the Club to express it. If you need any examples - the mere fact that there is now a thread promoting Kayne gets sacked is evidence for you; the fact that Wallace now cannot say anything without half the posters immediately accusing him of 'spin' etc. It just sucks.
Look I get tired of when Craig makes himself out to be a recruiting guru and repeats himself 2000 times as well, but I am concerned about the clubs welfare.
I know we had a complete and utter shambles to rebuild after 2004, and that won't be a simple task even 3 years on.
However I see players like Krakouer who have done little to nothing getting regular games.WHY?
I hear supporters in the pubs before and after the game say they are getting fed up with paying up plenty of money for years on end for little success or even consistency.
We have many supporters who are becoming alienated by chronic under achievment.
The Richmond football club can thank its stars for the past loyalty and endless patience of its fan base.........but its growing weary from what I can gather.
If the club has crap attendances for the remainder of the year (very possible) then TV exposure affecting sponsorship can be damaged and all the hard work getting membership figures up to 30K will take a severe dent as well.
Thats cause for concern I'd say.
The fans are seeing a lack of leadership onfield, players shirking the hard ball and perennial skill errors that seem to bedevil us eternally continue on again and again and again, by players who have had more than enough of our time and patience to produce better.
I remember sitting in the crowd at the MCG in the rain against Adelaide in the early 90s when there was about 9000 people there.
I don't want to see the club revisit those days and jepordise its already tenous hold in a crowded Melbourne market.
It could happen if we don't get out the abyss sometime soon :-\
