I feel robbed

I don't think we deserve to be in the eight, Apart from the Hawthorn game and a good showing against the Dogs we've
been belted by the other teams in the eight.......Not ready.

But 8 wins from our last 11 games is a good way to end the season. :)

Tigers were not deserving to make the top 8 but either were a few who did make it. Yes Tigers only beat one team int area top 8 and need to improve that although we did get within 3 points of Saints and draw with Bulldogs and give Hawthorn a run the first time around too, so there were all up 4 games we could have/should have won out of the top 8. Importantly we won the games we should have and that's a marked improvement and something to build on.

Why should Swans be more deserving when they only beat Saints once, the only team out of top 8. Why is Adelaide more deserving, only beaten North once the only team out of the top 8. Why Collingwood, who only played the top 3 teams once each.

The Tigers were not deserving but I would argue the same for Swans and Adelaide and arguably Collingwood. Why are the Tigers not just as deserving as those teams to have mae the 8 and at least gained some finals experience for the future?
Let's not forget that Sydney were given 2 points against NM that many have said the AFL by their own rules should not have awarded them.

Is this correct? I understood the rule was if a captain called for a head count and there are more than 18 players on the field then the score reverts back to zero. If the Swans should have been docked the 2 points then it certainly has ramifications for the Tigers (assuming Tigers beat Melbourne and Swans lose to Brisbane).

yeah i feel robbed to. of a priority pick because regardless of wins thats where we are at imo.

Given your beloved Weagles qualified for a PP, I would have thought you'd be doing cartwheels by now! :D

We have gone from 3.5 wins to 10.5/11.5 in one season. Decent improvement for our list, and a good base to go into 09 with.

everyone keeps saying this, but is it a fair thing to say? can we argue last year was an abberation considering we won 10 games in 2005 and 11 in 2006? if last year truly was an abberation, you can mount an argument that we have been stagnant under wallace.

Reality is we lost some experience and went backwards. Given the size of the kids and the inconsistency we have, this is were our list should be right now.

Sydney and Adelaide are both teams in decline. They are both limping into the finals. Neither has earned the right to be there, especially given their form of the last few months.
Both of these teams may now finish in the top 4 with the double chance ... although they will need it with Geelong in week 1 of the finals!

To me this would not qualify as 'limping into the finals' unless of course you can say all the teams from 3rd to 8th were limping into the finals?

Interesting spin on those figures - one that TW has alluded to as well (without the stagnant word of course ;) )

Looking at their second halves of the year I'd say both are limping into the finals.

Based on 2nd halves we are top 4 material! Most of the teams in the 8 apart from Geelong have had poorer 2nd halves than 1st halves which is the direct opposite to the Tigers.

Mate, I have to tell you. I hope we never qualify for another priority pick again.

Would love him but the cost will be to high in the end.

If we fail then, we can start worrying, but I'm happy with our improvement in 08.
The highlight of the year has been Brett Deledio's elevation to the status of an 'elite' player.

Will only feel robbed if we turn out tomorrow in party mode and get rolled by the Dees.
There's a stack of kids that have stepped up to the mark this year and in taking the Doggies to the wire when they were on song, just going down by a sniff to the Aints and kicking the Dawks up the arse, they've shown enough to suggest they can step into finals next year.
The Dees have brought a bunch of old stagers in for a farewell game and if Scumwood and the Kangas efforts are anything to go by our boys need to be in the mood to hammer someone or could find themselves pantsed.
I'm expecting the boys to kick the Dees arse and just give a farewell polish to the 08 season, leaving the boys hungry and eager for a huge tilt in 09.
