I wasn't overly upset over our loss because I think I've become immune to the pain. Numbed from years of disappointment that I hope in the long run will make success all the more enjoyable.
I didn't really mind the Magpies roaring when they hit the front...even though it's supposed to be Tigers that roar. I just tried to think of pleasant thoughts like what to cook for Christmas Dinner this year and which book I'll read next.
What absolutely sickened me was after the game Collingwood supporters I didn't know were giving my sympathy and trying to soften the loss. That's the ultimate insult and to me shows how some others perceive our team.
Kind words from people dressed in black and white are like nails in the coffin of Richmond's performance. I politely listened to their sickening pity but inside I really wanted to tell them what they could do with it. Oh the shame. I'd prefer they got right up me about our effort.
