I was watching channel ten news and there was a comment from John Worsfold about the Eagles performance last weekend. This is what he said (and it's close enough to 100 percent verbatim):
"if you want a team that can finish 9th and 10th for five years in a row we can easily manufacture that, if you want though a team that can win a premiership then you'll need to suffer a bit of pain".
What a contrast this is to Wallets philosophy and his performance over the last five years. Even now with his coaching career almost at an end I suspect he is still desperately trying to get us to 9th or 10th. It highlights again what a disasterous mistake it was to have appointed this man as coach and how we now need to appoint someone like Worsfold that will do the hard yards, who isn't interested in shortcuts for modest and temporary short-term rewards, and who will if necessary take one step backwards so in the long run we can go two steps forward. All I can say is God help our board and our club if they fall for the BS and spin and appoint another Terry Wallace.
