I would be more confident if...???

ha you can quote all the stats you like mate they are rubbish. how many actual forwards kiked goals and what percentage does that amount to.how many did those players kick playing as forwards how many key forwards kicked goals and dont include richo if you support him playing as our winger. browny got a few another who spent a lot of time midfield on a wing.how many did he kick as a mid or a forward. it seems far to many cant get their hands on it as forwards harsh i know but in the interests of making a point.

Geelong have been very successful with limited input from key forwards. They have made the input from crumbers and midfielders an art form. I think the Tigers need to concentrate a little more on goals coming from midfielders. Adds an extra dimension.

Where have i said Patto wont make it?Why wouldnt we give him a go at CHF?The problem with most is they expect whoever is playing at CHF is to be our version of Carey or Brown. They are once in a generation players.Patto wont shirk an issue and we should give him time in that position considering 2 yrs of his development was forced/wasted as a Ruckman.
As for brown,s best year.Short Memory Claw or just your typical response to make your point stronger.I.ll go for tha latter :P.I believe his best ever year was playing in the fwd pocket when he did his leg.
Morton geez you have to give him half a chance and he,ll kick it.

Where to start??
Pato:
1. Cannot take a mark
2. Slow
3. No agility

On the plus side he has a good motor.

i couldnt agree more but you still need good kpfs. the lack of them probably cost them a premiership in 08.
in 07 in the gf geelongs forwards as a group kicked roughly three quarters of their goals. in 07 they went with mooney n ablett and had ottens spend big chunks of time in a forward pocket.steve johnson and chapman also kicked a few and yeah chapman is part of rotations but hes a forward first. a functioning well structured forward line is very important.
imo the lack of a quality big man forward is one of geelongs achilles.but even so they still structure up well.

I have to pull you up on two things Claw.
If Geelongs forwards, mainlt Mooney had've kicked straight the game would've been nearly done and dusted by half time and a few posts ago you were saying Browny kicked goals but was having turns in the middle but then you contradict yourself and say Chapman has a run in the middle but is predominantly a forward. I'd say Brown and Chapman are almost a carbon copy of the time spent forward/onball.

IMO,today the best forward lines are the ones that do not rely too heavily on one player. The Richocentric forward line never worked, and I believe we still have a hangover from those days, because other forwards had to play second fiddle, and probably stymied their confidence and progress.schulz falls in this category.Hopefully TW will let him make his mark at FF.My prediction for this season is:

schulz: 50 goals.

Brown: 35

Riewoldt 35 72(behinds)

Morton 25

Richo. 20

Simmonds 15 A reasonable spread of options IMO
schulz: 50 goals. He cant kick in front of crowd maybe 10 goals 50 behinds
